I was born in Miami, Florida, sometime on the day of the 17th of January, 1980 (How old am I? Do the math!). I was raised in Orlando, Florida. I attended public school. I did the university thing for a while, picking up an Associate in Arts degree from Valencia Community College in Orlando and a couple semesters studying Computer Information Systems and then International Economics at the University of Florida before bagging it. Right now I'm doing programming and system administration for the Shimberg Center for Affordable Housing, located on the UF campus.
I attend many of Gainesville's monthly technology group meetings, including the FLU Linux user group, Gainesville 2600, and, of course, Slashdot Meetup. I subscribe and post to many of Florida's Linux mailing lists and a few other assorted lists. I hack on Free software in my spare time.
Beyond that, I tend to enjoy music from the dance and trance genres. As for televsion, I enjoy watching Stargate SG-1, Angel, and Buffy. Quite excellent writing. While I administer TrekWeb, I have to admit with great sadness that Trek has fallen from grace since the end of The Next Generation and its outstanding finale, All Good Things. I enjoy movies, too, and among my favourites are Sneakers and Wargames. Few other movies correctly portray technology, except perhaps Enemy of the State, which is just good fun too.
When I game, I often enjoy Enemy Territory. Previously I abused Tactical Ops, Silent Hunter II, and Fallout Tactics.
Names. What's in a name? My personal preferences include Rebecca, Rachael, and Veronica; and Sarah.
