Ship looks cool n all, although I don't see how its so big? Looks very squashed for that amount of decks. I notice the Nemesis logo has changed to just jet-black text. How much sharper and cooler does this minor change make the logo look? :)
Back tot he ship, nice but a bit close to the Klingon design me thinks.

Helm, Warp One, ENGAGE!
That is one sweet ride! Damn Romulans always get the smooth as hell looking ships. Makes me think of the prometheus class ship that does that tri-vector assault thingy and blasts the s#@! out Romulans. I suppose the Federation has kick a#@ stuff too. Just always liked the way Romulan Warbirds looked.
Yeah, sweet ride vs. the tri-vector. Give us that too!

Anyone care to explain the logic of dropping the colon from the title? "Star Trek Nemesis" makes it sound like the movie is the nemesis of Star Trek. :-)
Take care!

Sounds like some executive's idea of job justification. They always have to leave their mark, you know (regardless of how inconsiquential it actually is).
I deal with this all the time at work. I'm a graphic designer and I'm always having the "higher ups" from various businesses coming in to leave their mark on a project (often much in the same way as a dog leaves its mark on a tree). I've seen a lot punctuation debates similar to the Nemesis situation. Actually, I encourage them to make all the text changes they want, otherwise they tend to want to try to be designers too, which is incredibly annoying. I'm in one of those professions where everyone thinks they're qualified to do my job.

Without getting into a pissing match, I would point out that one doesn't need to be trained in a certain field to have some sort of valid knowledge about it. I'm sure that many executives of magazines, for instances, know a thing or two about design and layout even though they aren't graphic designers. Same with film executives. While some decisions may seem at odds with what the explicitly "creative" team is doing, one doesn't become a film executive without knowing a thing or two and being able to give valid input on the art of filmmaking or the marketing of films.
That said, I am perplexed as to the missing colon, I mean what's the big deal? I guess they just want to change it slightly to get out of the rut of always having ST: Something, ST: This, ST: That and on and on.

Oh really? I've seen how well you react when people try to tell you how to do your job, particullarly when you are second guessed by people that don't have a clue about what they are talking about. Just because people have a general understanding of your job doesn't mean they are qualified to do it for you. After all, if you needed surgery you would go to a doctor, not someone who thinks they are a doctor.

Not me. I'd go to the best actor-doctor I could find. Like maybe Dana Carvey's heart surgeon...now THAT guy was PURE genius!
Plus, I think all artists should be shackled to their seats and told exactly which keys to hit on their computers and exactly where to place each element and how.
But then again, I'm a glutton for agony so what do I know? ;)

Of course (re: your doctor scenario) but to say that movie executives shouldn't have input into a script or that magazine editors shouldn't have input into an article layout is utter silliness. I've deal with enough people in my life to know that there's always a little turf war going on where some people think they're the only ones on this Earth who know anything about their little part of the project. In reality, that just isn't the case and I don't think it's fair to generalize and say that anyone but the screenwriter or director might have a sense of what is good for a movie.

Didn't Generations also not have a ':' - ie Star Trek Generations? I may be mistaken.
Also what was quite wierd, over here in England Star Trek IV was renamed:
The Voyage Home: Star Trek IV
Haven't got a clue why - maybe to trick people into thinking it wasn't quite Star Trek.

Forgive me for being a nit-pick, but should we really be calling this a D'deridex Class warbird? It shares very few of the design features of the TNG series warbird which was a verified D'deridex Class.
I cannot even find where the Star Trek website, or the site the photo is found, states it is a D'deridex. Am I missing something?
Nonetheless.......YES. IT DOES KICK ASS! Will love to see E-E blowing it apart (or vice versa maybe?).
I just beg Rick Berman to not cut it below the 2 hour mark. Most science fiction is at its best when there is plenty of time to tell a worthwhile story.
Can't wait for Nemesis!
-
Yeah you may be more well versed in the class names than I but in the NEM Flash site under Romulan Weaponry it states that the main Romulan ship is a D'Deridex, it also states later that there are "Refitted Warbirds" also making an appearances, so I deduced that the new one, the one labelled as flagship, went with this photo. But it is conjectured. Thanks for chiming in!

....but let's just hope it makes money. I don't want the TNG crew to bow out now.
That means we've gotta show our faith in Trek - see this movie IN FORCE opening weekend, then pull a "Big Fat Greek Wedding" and keep seeing it, so it will rake in consistent numbers thereby impressing Paramount to have another go.

Well according to the official site the flagship is the D'Deridex and it has all the attributes I mentioned in the story. The same old warbird sure wasn't twice as large as the Enterprise, that's for sure. The official site also makes reference to "refitted warbirds," which I think are the regular TNG warbirds.

I seem to recall reading in the TNG technical manual, as well as hearing somewhere else, that the original TNG warbird WAS twice the size of the ent...
I think the specs you were reading were the specs for the orignial warbird, they sure sound familiar...
Which means that they probably goofed when spec'ing this new warbird out...
but is sure is kick ass :)
The D'Deridex-class is/was the same Warbird we've seen for years on all three 24th Century shows. I doubt that this is the same ship; that would be one heck of a refit.
Why would a Romulan warbird need so many crew members? The Enterprise has scientists to support its exploratory missions (and their families). Does this mean that the Romulans are using warbirds for exploration too? Or do they just carry loads of infintry troops?
-
Think Star Destroyer. Being an empire, one could imagine the Romulans would have to have reasonable numbers of infantry ready to be deployed to trouble spots.

...or does this kick some major ass? I'm telling all you naysayers, this film is going to really knock your socks off. The script reads so well and with so much money and effort being put into the details like this, I think we're really in for an impressive TNG film -- finally.

I knew this movie was going to rock, and this ship is going to be such a bad ass it really could seem like the Romulans want to go back to their old ways and take everyone over, which I wouldnt really mind all that much ;)
Knowing all I know about this movie, I can confirm all Steve said, this movie is going to kick major, major ass :)

That new Romulan ship looks like it is gonna kick some butt. Looks a lot better, at least in my opinion, than the old Warbird. The design definitely looks quite similar to the Klingon Bird of Prey. Can't wait to see the Scimitar after seeing that photo.

That is an awesome ship! At first glance it really reminds me of the Klingon BOP (which has Rom roots anyway). Interesting they got rid of the bottom arc, but it looks leaner and meaner! We'll probably see one in ENT, LOL!

I hate TV movie ads! The only succesful one I've seen is Star Wars (UK). It concentrated on a character, and gave a few key moment from the film. It was well paced and gave you an insight without trying to throw a two minute trailer at you in fifteen seconds, which ALWAYS pisses me the hell off!
