Nov 23 | Chuck returns to NBC with a special two-hour show on Sunday, Jan 10, 2010, before returning to its regular time slot, Mondays at 8pm on the following night. It's return to prime time television can be attributed to a successful fan renewnal campaign last year. CHUCK is a one-hour, action-comedy series that follows Chuck Bartowski (Zachary Levi, "Less Than Perfect") -- a computer geek who is catapulted into a new career as the government's most vital secret agent. This upcoming season will include some special guest stars, including Brandon Routh of "Superman Returns" who will play CIA agent Daniel Shaw in an episode, and the addition of SUBWAY restaurant as a major advertiser to the show. Chuck averaged a 4.0/6 rating last season, about eight percent better than the recently cancelled "Trauma". Ratings-challenged Heroes moves back an hour when Chuck returns on Monday nights. STAR TREK VOYAGER's Robert Duncan McNeill serves Chuck as a supervising producer and director.

Nov 17 | Originally hired as co-executive producer to help with the second half of the show's first season, Kevin Murphy has now taken the reins of Caprica, the Battlestar Galactica prequel on Syfy, according to The Hollywood Reporter. He now serves as an executive producer along with Ronald D. Moore, David Eick and Jane Espenson and oversees the day-to-day functions of the show.

Nov 12 | Star Trek star Zachary Quinto is loosely attached to star in the romantic dramedy Whirligig, reports Risky Business.Quinto would play the lead role in the independent Canadian film, which is aiming to shoot early next year. The movie centers on a man who, in a misguided attempt to woo an older woman, befriends the woman's adopted son.Chaz Thorne is directing the pic, based on a screenplay by Michael Amo, creator of the Canadian supernatural series "The Listener."

Nov 11 | The CNS Foundation, is hosting an on-line charity auction at www.charitybuzz.com.   One of the items they are auctioning is a signed movie poster of the new Star Trek movie which has all the cast members and writers.  The president of our organization is Carol Abrams, JJ's mother,  and she arranged for the donation from Bad Robot Production Company.  J.J. Abrams is also a major donor to their organization. The funds raised will go to help find a cure to neurological disorders in children.  The auction link is here.

Nov 10 | Candice Bergen, Charles Lisanby, Don Pardo, Gene Roddenberry, Tom and Dick Smothers and Bob Stewart have been selected as the next inductees into the Television Academy's Hall of Fame. They will be honored at a Jan. 20 ceremony at the Beverly Hills Hotel. "This year's inductees have challenged and shaped popular culture, changed television for the better and entertained us royally while doing so," TV Academy Chairman-CEO John Shaffner said. William Shatner Says He Would Love to Appear in Star Trek XII, But is Up to J.J. Abrams

According to TrekMovie.com, Star Trek star William Shatner was at the Madame Tussaud's on Hollywood Blvd today to unveil the new Captain Kirk in Wax and here is an excerpt of the article.

"I have no plans, because I don't make those plans." Shatner said when asked if he plans to be in the next Star Trek XII  "JJ Abrams has my fate wrapped up in his two little hands. I would love to be in the next Star Trek, if he so thought that would be good for it"

(Hollywood, Calif., Nov. 4, 2009)---Madame Tussauds Hollywood (http://www.madametussauds.com), the biggest new attraction to Southern California, is adding another stellar personality to its stable of stars immortalized in wax.

Shatner has co-authored Star Trek Memories (1993) and Star Trek Movie Memories (1994) with Chris Kreski, Get a Life! (1999), and Up Till Now: The Autobiography (2008) with David Fisher.

Shatner really needs to see the new movie before launching on his marketing campaign to be part of the new Trek.
I really like his work, especially the addle-brained Denny Crane on Boston Legal, but he is starting to lose everyone's sympathy. After shunning the new movie and refusing to watch it, he pitches for the sequel. That's pretty rude.
He is also conveniently trying to dismiss that he killed off Kirk , albeit in the Prime timeline. So he will probably not return as the same *character* as before. He might be an aged Kirk in the alternate timeline, but that would be a different person. It's hard to see how to resurrect the dead Kirk in the Prime timeline.
Overall, he has shown little ability to compromise. I don't think he realizes his negotiating position is not that strong. The new franchise will do fine without him, so he is the one who has to bend and make a meaningful and heartfelt performance if he gets a chance.
As long as he is sitting on his high horse, no one will back him, even his more ardent fans.

    Shatner has never been put in a position to compromise. He's been on the outside looking in since 1994. Abrams has all the power.

    Ultimately, this isn't news. Neither is Abrams saying that Shatner in the next movie is a possibility.

Personally I thought putting Leonard Nimoy in the movie was perfect he always had an intelligence and aura about him in a humble way and he was the perfect choice when it came to "bringing back" someone from the other series. I feel the revived franchise can stand on its own and there is no need for others from trek past to come in for a cameo. But in that same breath as Patrick Stewart said in the Captains Summit that no one in Star Trek really dies.

Honestly I want Shatner to shut up about being in a new star trek movie until he has at least taken the time to see the new one. The guy keeps answering questions put to him about wanting to be in a new star trek movie, that he would love to do it but he does not even have enough respect for the franchise to see the new movie. Its a pet peeve of mine when actors will not even watch or take interest in the roles they have done. "Oh I will do it for the money but no, ill never watch or buy a Star Trek episode." Which is why I love Wil Wheaton and LeVar Burton because they too are trek fans. Shatner I love ya, as a die hard star trek fan I love ya but shut the hell up until you have seen the movie. Its bull that he does not have time to see the movie. He is disrespecting Gene Roddenberry and it matters not that Gene is not alive, that he did not write the new movie or have anything to do with it (other than the incredible legacy he left.) Its a huge insult to Gene, to JJ, to the new actors, to the fans, and to the legacy of the franchise itself. But if Shatner is that much of a douche, well, then that is where he belongs, in the past.

William Shatter, see the new movie and maybe then some of us will have some sympathy for you.

    Let's face it--there are a lot of jerks when it comes to Shatner.

    Remember this--without Shatner and his brilliant performance as Kirk, there is no franchise.

    He's right. It's totally up to Abrams. Shatner wanting to be in the next one is simply not his call, just like it wasn't last time.

    If Abrams is serious, and I don't think he is, we'll see it. If not, we won't.

    This really isn't news.

        True, but the problem is that Shatner KEEPS getting asked that question over and over, its no longer elegant. He can't even take the time to see the new movie, has no idea what its about but he so badly wants to be in the next one. Illogical lol.

          Um, no one knows what the next movie is about, except maybe Abrams and his writing staff. The point is that Shatner wants to return to the franchise that HIS work made possible.

          And it's not a game. If Abrams wants him in, it'll happen. But Abrams isn't serious when he makes those comments. Or at least, one can't take him seriously, based on how Abrams acted last time.

          This isn't news.
