Nov 23Chuck returns to NBC with a special two-hour show on Sunday, Jan 10, 2010, before returning to its regular time slot, Mondays at 8pm on the following night. It's return to prime time television can be attributed to a successful fan renewnal campaign last year. CHUCK is a one-hour, action-comedy series that follows Chuck Bartowski (Zachary Levi, "Less Than Perfect") -- a computer geek who is catapulted into a new career as the government's most vital secret agent. This upcoming season will include some special guest stars, including Brandon Routh of "Superman Returns" who will play CIA agent Daniel Shaw in an episode, and the addition of SUBWAY restaurant as a major advertiser to the show. Chuck averaged a 4.0/6 rating last season, about eight percent better than the recently cancelled "Trauma". Ratings-challenged Heroes moves back an hour when Chuck returns on Monday nights. STAR TREK VOYAGER's Robert Duncan McNeill serves Chuck as a supervising producer and director.0

Great scene but... | Report this post to moderator

...I'm glad it was cut. Pine is great and the scene is of finished quality, but it makes Kirk look like a douche.

"They all look like." -- Yikes! We're "we" supposed to be beyond this in the future?

You're right, PyBolar, he IS one in the first 2/3rds of the film. I haven't seen this movie since June, so I had forgotten where this scene was supposed to fit in until I read your comment. He's looking at his hand, so he's just gotten over his allergic reaction to McCoy's treatment.

He should be a jerk still. Good call.

When we consider the cut scenes in context with the rest of the movie, we have to agree that Abrams and co. were right in cutting those scenes not only for time's sake but also for tightening the story. The 127-minute cut of the film doesn't overstay its welcome, nor does it feel rushed; it's just right at this length.

That doesn't mean I'm not all for an extended cut of the movie one day. I hope Abrams gets the chance to do it.

You know there's nothing that says she didn't. Although it was not in the movie, some of the crew could have left the scene is escape pods. It would be cool to see her back and it would not be hard to explain how she survived.

It's nice to see this and the Klingon/Nero scene before the DVD and Blu-ray release. It's obvious that these two scenes are of finished quality. Makes me wish that Abrams had given us a longer cut of the movie for the DVD/Blu-ray releases. Should he do so, I wouldn't mind double-dipping this title to get a longer cut!

I wouldn't be surprised to see a directors cut come down the pipeline, probably in the months prior to the release of the next film when the inevitable Blu/Ray/DVD Special Edition comes out.

(And yeah I meant to include DVD. I now have confirmation of at least one major company, BBC Video, still planning to issue DVDs until at least the end of 2013, so that format will be around for awhile yet.)

I don't think there will be a "director's cut" of Star Trek....I think Paramount gave J.J. the freedom to do what he wanted, and what we saw in the theaters is his best version of the movie based upon his own opinion of the movie.
