Variety confirmed that actor Tom Hardy, who played the villain Shinzon in the TNG movie Star Trek Nemesis, will star alongside actress Charlize Theron in Mad Max Fury Road, with producer-director George Miller set to start filming next August in Australia.

This is sort of a comeback for Hardy, after the box office failure of Nemesis "I came back from 'Star Trek,' and I didn't have any work, and I panicked," Hardy told Variety today.

He's actually had a successful career in the UK - both in movies and TV. He was just in Wuthering Heights. He has been typecast a bit in gangster films though.

Actually I'm glad both are back: Tom Hardy and Mad Max! Hardy isn't a bad actor. His Shinzon was great, It wasn't his fault the movie tanked...

Well said on all counts! Tom will make a great Max! Yes, I actually enjoyed his portrayal as Shinzon. He did a great job with such weak material.

It is well know how NEMESIS almost destroyed his career in Hollywood. It is nice that he is making a comeback due to the success of the recent aclaimed movie Bronson.
