Screen Rant posted the first photo of Star Trek star Chris Pine in Carriers (above), a psychological thriller about post-apocalyptic America after a deadly virus has afflicted the population. Produced in 2006, the film is getting a limited release in theaters thanks to Pine's Star Trek success.

Here's the official plot synopsis for the film, courtesy of IMDB: "Four friends fleeing a viral pandemic soon learn they are more dangerous than any virus."

More info and the trailer can be found here.

In other developments regarding the Alex and David Pastor-directed picture, an official site has launched. Also, there have been a few cuts made to the film. Last year the MPAA gave it an R, when it was initially primed for an '08 release. Now it's getting a PG-13 "for violence, disturbing content and language."

Carriers - starring Chris Pine, Lou Taylor Pucci, Piper Perabo and Emily VanCamp - opens in theaters on September 4th.
