MTV posted a new interview with Star Trek star William Shatner regarding his new line of comic books from Bluewater Productions and here are few excerpts from the article.

Along with "TekWar Chronicles," the "William Shatner Presents" line will also include the upcoming comic book series "Chimera," "Man O' War" and "Quest for Tomorrow."

According to Shatner, he's taking a hands-on approach with Bluewater Productions' new "TekWar" comic, and learning quite a bit about the ins and outs of the medium along the way.

"I'm right there from the very beginning, from the concept of how the story will be told to okaying the drawings and the color," Shatner told MTV News. "I'm getting a good education on the exigencies of drawing a comic book - but at the same time, storytelling is storytelling."

He's not ruling out another trip to the small screen for the franchise, either. "I've received an inquiry from England about the television rights to ‘TekWar,'" said Shatner. "It's a good story, and a good basis for more stories."

The full interview is here.

Bill - here is the problem. If I go to the bookstore or comic bookshop, it's like, ‘there is the guy who thinks he is Captain Kirk' or something like that. Or he just likes wearing that gold shirt he bought at a STAR TREK convention in '79 and hasn't washed it since. Some ridicule is going to happen. So I have sort of avoided that. I hope you understand. :-P

Well, maybe the Brits could do something with Tek war. Might be a whole lot different than the way it was done before…come to think of it, that might be a GOOD thing.

Yeah, as much as I like some of the episodes of the original TekWar series starring Greg Evigan, a new series co-starring Mr Shatner as Walter Bascom as made in England could work. Lets wait and see.
