TrekMovie.com just posted the first images of toys for the new Star Trek movie. The "Barbie" line from Mattel Toys includes 12" versions of James T. Kirk, Spock, and Uhura, featuring excellent likenesses of Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, and Zoe Saldana, to be available in April 2009, and should retail for about $45 each, according to TrekMovie.

You can see the full images of the "Barbie" figures of Kirk, Spock and Uhura, plus info on the toys, at TrekMovie.

Nov 23Chuck returns to NBC with a special two-hour show on Sunday, Jan 10, 2010, before returning to its regular time slot, Mondays at 8pm on the following night. It's return to prime time television can be attributed to a successful fan renewnal campaign last year. CHUCK is a one-hour, action-comedy series that follows Chuck Bartowski (Zachary Levi, "Less Than Perfect") -- a computer geek who is catapulted into a new career as the government's most vital secret agent. This upcoming season will include some special guest stars, including Brandon Routh of "Superman Returns" who will play CIA agent Daniel Shaw in an episode, and the addition of SUBWAY restaurant as a major advertiser to the show. Chuck averaged a 4.0/6 rating last season, about eight percent better than the recently cancelled "Trauma". Ratings-challenged Heroes moves back an hour when Chuck returns on Monday nights. It's not so much the Barbie doll piece of it I'm worried about. As has been mentioned it is Barbie so there must be a female, hence Uhura, and Kirk would be the best Ken analogy and what is Trek without Spock. So for this one piece I can understand the absence of McCoy. If this were the only case of McCoy absence/less prominence I wouldn't have a concern. My concern comes when adding up this, with posters, with interview schedules, with some of the things said in interviews. That's where the concern comes that the Trek Trinity of Kirk, Spock, McCoy may now be updated to Kirk, Spock, Uhura. Again I'll reserve final judgement until I see it, and I will see it, but this is why I'm skeptically optimistic instead of purely optimistic.
