Nov 23Chuck returns to NBC with a special two-hour show on Sunday, Jan 10, 2010, before returning to its regular time slot, Mondays at 8pm on the following night. It's return to prime time television can be attributed to a successful fan renewnal campaign last year. CHUCK is a one-hour, action-comedy series that follows Chuck Bartowski (Zachary Levi, "Less Than Perfect") -- a computer geek who is catapulted into a new career as the government's most vital secret agent. This upcoming season will include some special guest stars, including Brandon Routh of "Superman Returns" who will play CIA agent Daniel Shaw in an episode, and the addition of SUBWAY restaurant as a major advertiser to the show. Chuck averaged a 4.0/6 rating last season, about eight percent better than the recently cancelled "Trauma". Ratings-challenged Heroes moves back an hour when Chuck returns on Monday nights. STAR TREK VOYAGER's Robert Duncan McNeill serves Chuck as a supervising producer and director.0

Sulu was meant to be Asian, no specific nationality. George Takei is of Japanese descent and John Cho is Korean by birth. Roddenberry's original vision of Picard sounds a lot more like John Rhys-Davies than Patrick Stewart.

If you *really* want to quibble, Kirk is an American with kind of a Scots-Irish last name being played (in the original series) by a French-Canadian actor of Ukrainian Jewish origin. In your view of things, it might "count" a lot more than you realize.

Or, you could just calm down and enjoy the performances of these fine actors, no matter what their ethnicity.

Don't forget all those humans who've been portraying Klingons for all these decades.

people casting for trek seem to mix up ethnicity a lot...

This is not really a revelation. Producers of films cast the best actors who LOOK the part of the character they want. As to whether the actor's actual ethnicity matches is completely irrelevant. In addition, such things as calling out Patrick Stewart playing a Frenchman? We know his parents are of French heritage, including the vineyard. But for all we know him and his brother could have developed their english accents from schooling, tutors or a 24th century influx of British transplants to France that lived next door? Have to use your imagination and quit nitpicking so much..
