Sci Fi Wire posted a new interview with director Kevin Smith (Clerks, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back), in which he talks more about the new Star Trek movie, since he was given an early screening of an early cut of J.J. Abrams movie, as reported before. Here are excerpts of the article

Smith admitted to preferring the films over the original series, and he said the new reboot movie is a highlight of the film series.

"I can watch the movies again and again and again," Smith said. "The TV is kind of sacrosanct for a lot of people, but I don't enjoy it as much as I enjoy the movies. So this one I enjoyed probably the most since I've enjoyed, like, Wrath of Khan."

He lauded the performances of Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto  and the rest of the prequel's cast and also praised the idea of rebooting the franchise. "I'm all for a reboot, because it just keeps it potentially alive longer," he said.

The full interview is here.

Nov 23Chuck returns to NBC with a special two-hour show on Sunday, Jan 10, 2010, before returning to its regular time slot, Mondays at 8pm on the following night. It's return to prime time television can be attributed to a successful fan renewnal campaign last year. CHUCK is a one-hour, action-comedy series that follows Chuck Bartowski (Zachary Levi, "Less Than Perfect") -- a computer geek who is catapulted into a new career as the government's most vital secret agent. This upcoming season will include some special guest stars, including Brandon Routh of "Superman Returns" who will play CIA agent Daniel Shaw in an episode, and the addition of SUBWAY restaurant as a major advertiser to the show. Chuck averaged a 4.0/6 rating last season, about eight percent better than the recently cancelled "Trauma". Ratings-challenged Heroes moves back an hour when Chuck returns on Monday nights. Or like rebooting your PC to fully integrate upgrades and fixes. It's still your computer, still familiar, but now it has some new features and looks a little different. Maybe even a little more fun.

Or... it's the same house your grandfather built 42 years ago, but with a new paint job, new in-house wiring, and you get all the HD channels. Also, there's a toilet downstairs now.

I like your analogy better.
