The premise has drawn early comparisons to "House" and "Bones."

Sep 05 | Moon, Duncan Jones’ poignant and thought-provoking psychodrama about a lonely lunar miner, won the 2010 Hugo Award for best sci-fi movie.The award, technically titled “best dramatic presentation, long form,” honored screenplay writer Nathan Parker as well as Jones, who came up with the story and directed the movie. The indie movie, Jones’ feature debut, bested big-budget competitors like Avatar, Star Trek, Up and District 9.
Sep 02 | Manchester Starfleet is a UK based Star Trek fan club. They recently turned one year young and proudly announced the registration of their 200th member. In the wake of Star Trek XI (2009), Manchester Starfleet was reborn. One year on and they already have 2 Trek conventions under their belt with the 3rd in October 2010 being their biggest yet. Their website appears on top of most search websites. The member's discussion forum is always very busy and they have an online store with club t-shirts and other trek-related merchandise in the making. So please join us in welcoming their 200th member and applauding the club's continued interest and success. Considering Star Trek has been off our screens for some time, it's wonderful to see there is still a huge and still growing fan base in the UK (partly thanks to JJ.Abrams). Sep 01 | George Takei will have a cameo in the new season of The Big Bang Theory. TV Squad reports that the former Star Trek actor will appear in an episode alongside guest star Katee Sackhoff. The show's executive producer Bill Prady suggested that Takei and Sackhoff will play different sides of Wolowitz's conscience as he considers reuniting with his ex-girlfriend Bernadette (Melissa Rauchberg).He explained: "George Takei plays himself, and he's the other person guiding Wolowitz in his thoughts as he tries to figure out what to do about Bernadette."

TrekWeb talks to Star Trek fan Sebastian Prooth, co-producer of the audio fan production series Star Trek The Continuing Mission
1- Can you tell us about the premise of Star Trek: The Continuing Mission audio series ?
Star Trek: The Continuing Mission starts out in the 23rd century, at the time of Star Trek II but by the end of the pilot episode Ghost Ship the USS Montana and her crew are transported to the 24th century and unable to get back. The show is about their exploits in that sweet spot of very little established history in Star Trek lore. Before the Holodeck and Galaxy Class luxury liners, our crew is roughing it on the frontier. They soon realize they can't trust everyone...maybe no each other and have to cope with their known family being dead for years. The show is classic "fish out of water" - Star Trek style!
2- What can you reveal about your latest episode which is coming out on Halloween ?
"Learning Curve" is the title. It's the first adventure our crew go on after arriving in the 24th century. The episode was written by Executive Producer, Andy Tyrer. We get to see what our crew is really made of when they come up against an enemy that knows them from within. While there are going to be some great action scenes we have some good character development as well. There is some good stuff for more than one of the regular characters and we find out more about their personal lives. Who is Doctor Wilson? Who was behind the Excelsior project? Questions - big and small get answered and some go unanswered in "Learning Curve". The episode will be available for download on Halloween at ContinuingMission.com.
3- What are your future projects beyond this episode ?
The next two episodes are written by a writer outside of the production team by the name of David Raines. We deal with some pretty emotional stuff in the next few episodes. We have been telling everyone since we started that no character is safe on The Continuing Mission. Anyone could die...and at anytime. The episode shows more of a complicated personality on the part of the Doctor and a more human side to Captain Edwards. The next two episodes are joint and then there is the season finale which I am writing. We are spiraling into war with the Cardassians for the first time, but they might not be alone in their imperialistic endeavors. I think you have a blast listening to everything we have lined up. It's not typical Trek...that's for sure!
