I know there's a 24th Century aspect to the film, and if this is supposed to be a continuity porn fest like the writers seem to say, I'd like to know why the Rommies don't have the forehead ridges, see some 24th Century technology (a TNG Warbird would be nice), and maybe a brief reference to "Ah, Shinzon and the Remans coup failed so now we're going to try a final solution by going back in time and killing Kirk!" And then they can get on with the movie proper. Maybe this comic will actually put some of those to rest, I'm cool with that if they do it in there.

Nero is another Picard clone? | Report this post to moderator

Are they even going to acknowledges the existence of Shinzon? or even the elimination of the Romulan senate? Is this movie in the same timeline as TNG and follows the end of Nemesis?

If the movie is some kind of an Ultimate version of Star Trek then I don't see how this movie like Abram has said is not a reboot.

Er, what? This is set before TNG.

Possible SPOILERS ahead at your own risk--

Everything I've read about the movie is that somehow Romulans go back in time to mess up Kirk and crew on the Enterprise. Our Spock (Nimoy) follows them back in time to warn his past self, and save the timeline. It's been almost 10 years for Nemeisis, so it fits in fine with cannon.

If I were J.J. I'd ignore Nemesis, Shinzon, senate...those "issues" can be ignored due to the passage of time.
