Sy Fy Portal posted a new interview with Star Trek Deep Space Nine actress Nana Visitor, in which she talks about her recent role in Battlestar Galactica, Dark Angel, the potential actor's strike and more. Here are few excerpts of the article.

"It was real acting, like I hadn't done for a while, and [it had] real writing," Visitor told fans about Galactica while attending the recent Vulkon convention in Orlando, Fla. "I loved it. I was very impressed all the way around. I though it was a great show."

"I was on the set for maybe four or five days, or something like that, and it was a real rough set," she said. "You felt the world of 'Battlestar Galactica' being very rough, and every set was dark, and it was tough. It was a whole different atmosphere."

Especially compared to the last time Galactica producer Ronald D. Moore and Visitor worked together on Deep Space Nine.

"Our show had three huge soundstages that you walked in one door and you were in the world, and there were real doors," Visitor said. "It was like Disney World as opposed to Disneyland. There was no scale. It was what it looked like."

The full interview cen be found at Sy Fy Portal.

It's all from Saturday's SyFy Radio broadcast that can be found at www.BlogTalkRadio.com/SyFyRadio.

SyFy Radio will have George Takei tonight at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT.

Nana is the best argument to bring back DS9 | Report this post to moderator

I just enjoy listening to Nana. She is just a great lady. I would watch a new DS9 just to watch her. She did a great job as Major/Col Kira. Maybe we will see her on Caprica?

I still dream about a DS9 movie just because of Nana. But, yes, I know, it is not going to happen. sigh

I'd be happy just to dream about Nana! I mean, seriously - a superb actress who also happens to be SO sexy, SO delish. She is the thinking Trek fan's crumpet!

I know. : ( You never know though - there are so many possibilities. I like the direction Star Wars is going with their new CG movies coming out. The trailers look better than any of the prequels, that's for sure. I wouldn't be upset at Star Trek going that route. The budget would be much smaller, which would allow for even deeper story telling. That being said, I would much prefer a DS9 Direct-to-DVD movie, or mini-series.

I like the mini-series idea for DS9. The show deserves more airtime instead of wrapping up everthing in two hours or so.

Now, would you prefer to have Terry to return as Dax? No sure how but I did like her character.

Bring back Terry ? Oh, I dont think this is a good idea. I would love to see Captain Ezri Dax in command of the U.S.S. Defiant, just like in the upcoming Star Trek Destiny and DS9 novels. Just my two cents.

So when do these novels where Ezri is a captain take place? She must have rose through the ranks pretty quick. :o But as much as I'd love to see Jadzia back, it would make no sense. Ezri is Dax, and I actually liked deBoer's take on the character. It's just too bad she didn't have more time to develop and get more comfortable with the character. I imagine deBoer was probably just starting to get a strong sense of how she wanted to play the character by the time the series ended.

I think the STAR TREK DESTINY trilogy of novels takes place at least 10 years after the DS9 series finale. And yes, Dax was made captain pretty quickly. The events of DESTINY will have big consequences for all the future Star Trek novels.

Where did you hear that, Gustavo? I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just curious. I thought the DS9 relaunch novels took place pretty soon after the end of the series, which would make it about two years later right now. Am I wrong, or does Destiny occur way later?
