I thought it was fine. Looks to be a solid drama. Not meant to be much in the action department.

It looked like exactly what it is intended to be: a compelling character drama with fine actors, excellent cinematography and good writing just like my favorite shows and films (none of which have a robot, spaceship or space battle in sight). Caprica's going to be a show for discerning adults that enjoy an interesting drama (not annoying narrow-minded science-fiction fans). All of which Ron and Dave have made clear from the get-go.

Caprica will hopefully turn-off the sci-fi fanboys that never truely 'got' what the new Galactica was doing in the first place; and they'll thankfully stay away rather than ruining things with their endless bitching and "rank and discuss" threads...and I couldn't be happier.

When I was singing BSG's praises, only smart and savvy entertainment consumers were interested; the fanboys hated it because of it's grown-up elements. However, once it became 'in', they wanted to be 'cool' and predictably started pretending they always liked it; and with every passing year, they have all but ruined the discourse about the show with their typical dork-talk, treating it like they do the rest of sci-fi television (which BSG shouldn't be compared to, as it is in a league above and isn't designed for such a demographic in the first place).

Fortunately, I dont think this is going to happen with Caprica; it will stay "ours". It just wont be able to sustain the interest of the sci-fi geek. Their short attention-spans and obsessive natures just wont be able to handle it. And I couldn't be happier. It'll be great to have discussions in threads about Moore's work--without some trekker/comic-book guy/gamer troll barging in and ruining it--again.

only hollow rhythms resounded from within.
