Fan film series Hidden Frontier and Starship Intrepid have finished filming their crossover feature-length epic fan film co-production, titled Operation Beta Shield, this week. The movie stars Risha Denney as Captain Elizabeth Shelby and Nick Cook as Captain Daniel Hunter (photo).

"We just wrapped Operation Beta Shield and the film is now in post-production and will be off to composer, David Beukes soon for scoring." Hidden Frontier executive producer Rob Caves told TrekWeb  "David scored Orphans of War, a short film we did with Starship Intrepid about a year ago."

"Release should be sometime in July" Caves said.

Operation Beta Shield picks up halfway through the first season of fan series Odyssey and Helena Chronicles.  The refitted starship Excelsior is being assigned to the Beta Quadrant under the command of Elizabeth Shelby (Risha Denney) on a critical mission.  The Archein's may be planning another wormhole invasion of Romulan space and the Beta Quadrant is vulnerable.

Meanwhile Klingon General Korg (Karl Puder) is on a top secret mission on Romulus when an attempt is made on his life!  Something must be done to shore up allied defenses against the Archein threat.  Shelby leads an allied fleet to the Kovalis System where signs of wormhole formation have been detected.

Captain Hunter (Nick Cook) and the USS Interpid must ferry Romulan Procounsel Yeshva (Joni Bovill) to Romulus playing a delicate game of political Chess, and uncover the assassination attempt on Korg's life before it is too late!  When the trail leads them to Vrijheid, planetary President Vindenpawl (Rebecca Wood) must decide where her loyalties stand.

More info about Operation Beta Shield can be found at the official sites of Star Trek Hidden Frontier and Starship Intrepid.

Nov 23Chuck returns to NBC with a special two-hour show on Sunday, Jan 10, 2010, before returning to its regular time slot, Mondays at 8pm on the following night. It's return to prime time television can be attributed to a successful fan renewnal campaign last year. CHUCK is a one-hour, action-comedy series that follows Chuck Bartowski (Zachary Levi, "Less Than Perfect") -- a computer geek who is catapulted into a new career as the government's most vital secret agent. This upcoming season will include some special guest stars, including Brandon Routh of "Superman Returns" who will play CIA agent Daniel Shaw in an episode, and the addition of SUBWAY restaurant as a major advertiser to the show. Chuck averaged a 4.0/6 rating last season, about eight percent better than the recently cancelled "Trauma". Ratings-challenged Heroes moves back an hour when Chuck returns on Monday nights. STAR TREK VOYAGER's Robert Duncan McNeill serves Chuck as a supervising producer and director.0
