J.J. Abrams Defends His Secrecy Regarding the New Star Trek Movie

By GustavoLeao / 16:24, 3 June 2008 / Star Trek: Nemesis

According to a brief article at Jossip.com, Star Trek movie director J.J. Abrams finds himself at odds with rabid Trek fans who want to know "every gory detail about a movie that's still a year away."

He respects their hunger, but is convinced they are better off waiting until May 8, 2009. "Learning raw detail and experiencing that detail as it was intended are two totally different things," he says. "I would argue that not knowing those details in advance is a more refreshing way to live when it comes to entertainment."

The spoiler bloggers won't respectfully put down their telephoto lenses or stop sifting through studio dumpsters. Spoiler scraps are their lifeblood and sense of power. Their gossip exchanges maintain a hearsay clusterfuck.

Abrams could create an online experience which will complement his projects with appetizers, not spoilers.
