Features

By GustavoLeao / 14:38, 30 May 2008 / Star Trek: Nemesis

JoBlo.com posted new exclusive spy photos from the set of J.J. Abrams upcoming Star Trek movie.

According to the site "These are some pics from the set of Starfleet Academy. The location is California State University of Northridge and the school library is being used as a... well, school. This shows some nice costumes and art design. During filming, all the extras run over to the right side of the field, to the blue screen and point, as if something big crashes."

You can find the photos here.

Nov 23Chuck returns to NBC with a special two-hour show on Sunday, Jan 10, 2010, before returning to its regular time slot, Mondays at 8pm on the following night. It's return to prime time television can be attributed to a successful fan renewnal campaign last year. CHUCK is a one-hour, action-comedy series that follows Chuck Bartowski (Zachary Levi, "Less Than Perfect") -- a computer geek who is catapulted into a new career as the government's most vital secret agent. This upcoming season will include some special guest stars, including Brandon Routh of "Superman Returns" who will play CIA agent Daniel Shaw in an episode, and the addition of SUBWAY restaurant as a major advertiser to the show. Chuck averaged a 4.0/6 rating last season, about eight percent better than the recently cancelled "Trauma". Ratings-challenged Heroes moves back an hour when Chuck returns on Monday nights. STAR TREK VOYAGER's Robert Duncan McNeill serves Chuck as a supervising producer and director.0

I believe there were several posts on that vehicle when the first leaked pics came out several months ago. It would be cool to see it in action.

I like the hats that the men are wearing. Its like the modern day DOD Battle dress uniform (BDU) hats. This movie may have some realism along with its futuristic theme. Oh yes, the short skirts on the girls....me likeee :)

Meh. I'm sure I'm in the minority; but don't really care for those designs. Pretty uninspiring. Everything has an off-the self look from a costume shop. (I'll take 100 of "space cadet" uniforms in the red and 50 in the gray please)

And why caps?! Last time I remember seeing a cap on anyone in a Trek movie was on the guy who called Sulu "tiny" in Trek 3. Is this suppose to be a graduating class of recruits stuck guarding prisons? :)

(corrected the post as I remembered it correctly after posting)

Which brings me to a question. Are we suppose to see some of the original characters graduating from Starfleet. And if so is this shown in flashback? Cause if not than I can't see how anyone of the original characters could be on the Enterprise in the time span of the movie.

Spock we know was on the Enterprise with Pike. So with him it's possible. But the other high ranking characters (as per rank on the original series) had other tours of duty before ever ending up on the Enterprise.

That spaceship/pod thing is interesting. I noticed it actually has a license plate.. so it IS a motorized vehicle, not just a prop.

That "spaceship/pod thing" is a present-day vehicle called the Aptera.

The all-electric Aptera Typ-1 is classified as a motorcycle, available in California by reservation for under $30-thousand.

Curious. Why is 1701's insignia hanging on the campus street lights? Is it "Yay Enterprise" day there at school or some sh*t like that?

Looks like just another little snippet of canon JJ's wiping his a$$ with.
