Edward James Olmos Says Galactica Will Not Have a Happy Ending

The lastest issue of SciFi Now magazine features an exclusive interview with Battlestar Galactica star Edward James Olmos. Here are a few excerpts.

"It's not a happy ending, we end up with almost nothing," the 61-year-old actor said about the series finale "Twenty years from now, people will see this as excellent post-9/11 television. It'll be marketed in a way that demonstrates sociological change for the time."

For the full interview with Olmos, pick up a copy of SciFiNow issue 17, on sale July 2008.

The latest issue of TV Zone Special, out in the UK, has an interview with Galactica actress Katee Sackhoff. Here is an excerpt from the article.

Die-hard fans of the 1978 Galactica series are the first to point out that that show's Lieutenant Starbuck was male, and played by Dirk Benedict. When the re-imagined version of the character turned out to be female and Sackhoff was cast in the role, many of those same fans were outraged. But ultimately, Sackhoff succeeded in winning over many of those who initially had doubts about her and the re-imagined Starbuck.

"It's nice to have people identify with a character that you're playing and appreciate the work you're doing," she says. "However, I don't think I went into this trying to win over the old fans because you can't ever please everyone. Also, I didn't want to focus on people who were all ready to, in a sense, spew negative energy at me. So I just kind of did my thing, and it's great that some people have been converted, and it feels rather gratifying as well. For those who said that the character wouldn't work with a woman, it feels good to know that, in fact, it did."

More from Sackhoff can be found here.

The full article can be found on the latest issue of TV Zone Special magazine, now on sale.

No need for shame, Gustavo....unless you own a flying motorcycle?

There was one or maybe two episodes that were pretty good. The episode with Starbuck was great. Of course, its his fault that the Galactica has Dr. Zee. How incideous.

I have the TOS on DVD. The extras were pretty good. What cracks me up is even now I cannot look at Tom Zerek and not see Apollo. I will say this series had done great work of late so I am not as bad about it. Would still love to see a TOS remastered someday.

I hope it is not going to be something like they all die at the end. Maybe they arrive on earth, say, on December 21, 2012, hmmmm?

You are a sick man.

Although I have to admit that I liked the Starbuck episode. The fact that I can even remember it after all these years must mean that it was pretty good.
