According to TrekMovie.com, actor Jeff Quinn, who played the role of Mr. Spock in the fan production series Star Trek New Voyages (now titled Star Trek Phase II) will appear, like Kirk actor James Cawley, in a cameo in J.J. Abrams upcoming Star Trek prequel movie.

According to TrekMovie, like Cawley , Quinn's is a non-speaking part, but he did say that he is "front and center" in a couple of shots. Quinn couldn't give any details on his role, but the partially shaved eyebrows might be a clue.

"it was an honor and a privilege to work on J.J. Abrams' Star Trek." he said.

Nov 23Chuck returns to NBC with a special two-hour show on Sunday, Jan 10, 2010, before returning to its regular time slot, Mondays at 8pm on the following night. It's return to prime time television can be attributed to a successful fan renewnal campaign last year. CHUCK is a one-hour, action-comedy series that follows Chuck Bartowski (Zachary Levi, "Less Than Perfect") -- a computer geek who is catapulted into a new career as the government's most vital secret agent. This upcoming season will include some special guest stars, including Brandon Routh of "Superman Returns" who will play CIA agent Daniel Shaw in an episode, and the addition of SUBWAY restaurant as a major advertiser to the show. Chuck averaged a 4.0/6 rating last season, about eight percent better than the recently cancelled "Trauma". Ratings-challenged Heroes moves back an hour when Chuck returns on Monday nights. STAR TREK VOYAGER's Robert Duncan McNeill serves Chuck as a supervising producer and director.0

At least they aren't speaking roles. I can't believe they are casting these guys....I'd like a non-speaking front and center of the scene shot too.

I watch all the fan productions (I just discovered Hidden Frontier and I'm slowly making my way through the first season). New Voyages has gotten better and better which is to say it started as a bad joke and now it's clunky and below network quality. That said, I think "Spock" was probably the best of the seven main actors (I guess he's being replaced for Phase II). Playing Spock is pretty hard, but he did a decent job. With professional lighting, scripting, and direction, I'm sure he'll be a good extra. I'm glad he's getting his little moment. Star Trek has LOTS of need for extras on the ships, and I think these people have put a lot of time and effort into something that's getting some (unwarranted) attention and bringing joy to Trek fans.
