Leonard Nimoy Injured His Nose on the Star Trek Movie Set - Minor Spoilers

Features

By GustavoLeao / 01:33, 26 March 2008 / Star Trek: Nemesis

According to the New York Observer, on Wednesday, March 19, on a soundstage at Paramount Studios during the filming of the new Star Trek movie, cast and crew were riveted by the news that Leonard Nimoy had fallen on the set the day before and injured his nose.

According to a source of the Observer site, Nimoy makes several cameos in the film in the form of a spirit (?). This contradicts the rumors about time travel, which were confirmed by several sites and at Wizard World convention this month.

So, this information is preliminary, of course, and entirely rumor.

Also according to the site, during the veteran actor's last day of filming, director J.J. Abrams gave a speech about what an honor it was to have worked with him.

"You know the sets are so dark and he's an old guy," said a makeup artist of the actor, who turns 77 on Wednesday, March 26. "He must have just tripped."

"There was some talk about using a double and how they were making a wig for the double, so that the guy would look more like Leonard Nimoy," said the original source. "But then they ended up using Leonard Nimoy."

The original report is here.

It's return to prime time television can be attributed to a successful fan renewnal campaign last year. CHUCK is a one-hour, action-comedy series that follows Chuck Bartowski (Zachary Levi, "Less Than Perfect") -- a computer geek who is catapulted into a new career as the government's most vital secret agent. This upcoming season will include some special guest stars, including Brandon Routh of "Superman Returns" who will play CIA agent Daniel Shaw in an episode, and the addition of SUBWAY restaurant as a major advertiser to the show. Chuck averaged a 4.0/6 rating last season, about eight percent better than the recently cancelled "Trauma". Ratings-challenged Heroes moves back an hour when Chuck returns on Monday nights. STAR TREK VOYAGER's Robert Duncan McNeill serves Chuck as a supervising producer and director.0

Interesting that him and Bill has B-days within a few days of each other. Not the same year, of course.

Shatner and Nimoy were born in the same year and month: March of 1931. Shatner on the 22nd, Nimoy on the 26th.
