JewishJournal.com posted an exclusive interview with Star Trek star Leonard Nimoy. Here are few excerpts from the article.

In 2002, Nimoy, now 76, said he was retiring from acting to focus on photography. But in May 2009, he'll return to the silver screen as an older Spock in J.J. Abrams Star Trek movie, a character Nimoy do not play since the two-part TNG episode "Unification" in 1991.

"My photography is still a major love and a major part of my creative life, but this is a 'Star Trek' project, so it's something special," Nimoy said.

"And I feel I owe it to 'Star Trek'; it's been a big, positive factor in my life," he added. "I do think this is a very serious chance for the entire franchise to become reinvigorated."

Spock fans and continuity fetishists can relax, Mr. Nimoy, knowing that the ST:XI makeup department won't need bleach to make Amanda Grayson's collar and cuff match: Winona Ryder says her natural hair color is blonde, but she's been dyeing it ever since she was asked to do so for her first film, Lucas, in 1986. Must've seemed like the logical thing to do.

New ESO Season Out of this World:

The Edmonton Symphony Orchestra's next season promises to be out of this world with a stellar lineup to tempt Trekkies, opera buffs and circus fanatics alike.

George Takei, who played Mr. Sulu in the original Star Trek television series, will narrate the Sci-Fi Spectacular concert alongside the ESO in January 2009.

SFIAAFF: Multiculti Cock-Meat Sandwich:

SFBG Speaking of space -- John, you're about to be mobbed at WonderCon because you've accepted the role of Mr. Sulu in the upcoming Star Trek film. Following in actor George Takei's footsteps must feel huge.

John Cho: I'm delighted. As a kid it meant so much to me to see an Asian American on television and say, "Whoa! He's not wearing a cone-shaped hat or teaching kung fu!" It was very important, a legacy that I desperately wanted to be a part of, and something I feel my work on the Harold and Kumar movies pays tribute to. Now Asian Americans can be stoners too.

HTC Star Trek Smartphones running on Windows Mobile 6:

A mobile phone that boldly goes where no man has gone before, HTC Star Trek Smartphones has surely got to be for all you trekkie fans. The mobile phone called the HTC Star Trek had its debut and the Trekkie flip cell phone was powered by Windows Mobile 5.0.
