Rumor Mill : Star Trek Movie Release Date of May 2009 Still Not Set ?

Features

By GustavoLeao / 03:04, 16 February 2008 / Star Trek: Nemesis

Acording to a new report at SyFy Portal, the new release date for the new Star Trek movie of May 8 2009 may not be set in stone, according to studio sources.

"There are a few people here who want the Star Trek franchise to become the studio's new Fourth of July slam-dunk," said the source, who asked not to be named. "I don't know how well that will work because 'Star Trek' is not considered the kind of action fare that usually works as a summer blockbuster, but there's a lot of history behind summer releases that could really help" the franchise.

"Star Trek used to be a summer franchise, but for some reason, in recent years, it was moved back to being more holiday fare," the source said.

This information is preliminary, of course, and entirely rumor.

The full report can be found here.

There's no reason that the movie can
t be released THIS July 4th.

It's a 2 hour fucking movie. They've churned out astounding work on a weekly goddamned TV series.

You want to floor people? Take your 2 months of post production then release that puppy. Strike while the iron is hot.

You telling me that shit can't be cranked out with some hard hitting quality in SIX months?

That's like spending 2 days of work per minute of film. That's enough time, bee-aches.
