IESB posted an exclusive video interview with Star Trek writer Roberto Orci, conducted on the Paramount Lot  during the world premiere of the J.J. Abrams-produced movie Cloverfield. Here are few excerpts from the video interview.

Orci took a few minutes and chatted with IESB on the black carpet. There has been plenty of rumors about Star Trek storyline details online, since a few months ago IESB reported on alleged storylines that involved elements from the TOS episode "The City on the Edge of Forever" such as the Guardian of Forever.

"I love "City on the Edge of Forever" said Orci when asked if the rumor is bullshit "You mean if it is part of [the movie]....no."

Orci said the he read about this rumor and even the knows the fact that the episode writer, Harlan Ellison said the rumor was not true.

Asked if there is time travel involved in the plot, Orci said "Who knows ? [laughs] Who knows if there is time travel involved. But if there is, it is original."

"If you know your Trek, and you know your canon, your knowledge will be rewarded." Orci said "The trick is to make it to fans and non-fans."

This upcoming season will include some special guest stars, including Brandon Routh of "Superman Returns" who will play CIA agent Daniel Shaw in an episode, and the addition of SUBWAY restaurant as a major advertiser to the show. Chuck averaged a 4.0/6 rating last season, about eight percent better than the recently cancelled "Trauma". Ratings-challenged Heroes moves back an hour when Chuck returns on Monday nights. "I am not a fan of JJ Abrams and Roberto Orci, as everyboby here knows..."

Really? And here I thought that all this red meat being tossed to the movie-boycott-movement was just "reporting of news".

Thanks for clearing that up.
