Trek Movie Report posted an article on the upcoming Writers Guild of America strike and its lack of impact on the upcoming Star Trek movie, with a few quotes from producer and writer Roberto Orci. Here is a few excerpts.

Orci told Trek Movie that Paramount and the team have been working on the assumption of a strike for months. “The script is in great shape and we had a long lead time,” said Orci confidently.

J.J. [Abrams] and I have been up to the wee hours of the morning getting it all together,” Says Orci. The writer said that they will “always take advantage of every minute and second of time to try and improve anything and everything possible” if negotiations continue. Orci even joked that the strike has its benefits. “For once I will actually see our script on screen,”

According to another article on the site, the movie begins filming November 7th.

Chuck averaged a 4.0/6 rating last season, about eight percent better than the recently cancelled "Trauma". Ratings-challenged Heroes moves back an hour when Chuck returns on Monday nights. It's game time. I can't wait to see some production pics. I like to stay in the dark about plot details, but I'd give up caffeine for a week just to get a look at the new bridge.

Star Trek writing staff PREPARED for a writer's strike for months? No set, costume or major plot leaks right up until filming?

PINCH ME! :-D

    Indeed.

A production team that seems to have a clue? How refreshing.

The thing starts shooting in less than a week! It's really happening!

And yet there haven't been leaks about sets, ship design, all that good stuff. Maybe it's better this way, and I'm sure they'll be photos from the set and everything, but I am intensely curious about what's going on right now.

I mean, they may have already built the bridge set for the Enterprise! What would you give to be there on the first day they shoot those scenes?

Yeah, I was amazed to read that principle shooting starts next week. I imagine we'll start seeing all sorts of stuff, but I'm going to try and actually avoid most of it.

I think we are going to see a lot of leaked material (photos, set designs, script pages and so forth) in the upcoming weeks.
