Trek Movie Report posted an article on the upcoming Writers Guild of America strike and its lack of impact on the upcoming Star Trek movie, with a few quotes from producer and writer Roberto Orci. Here is a few excerpts.

Orci told Trek Movie that Paramount and the team have been working on the assumption of a strike for months. “The script is in great shape and we had a long lead time,” said Orci confidently.

J.J. [Abrams] and I have been up to the wee hours of the morning getting it all together,” Says Orci. The writer said that they will “always take advantage of every minute and second of time to try and improve anything and everything possible” if negotiations continue. Orci even joked that the strike has its benefits. “For once I will actually see our script on screen,”

According to another article on the site, the movie begins filming November 7th.

Indeed.

A production team that seems to have a clue? How refreshing.
