According to IESB and AICN, actor Karl Urban (Lord of the Rings, Pathfinder) will play the new Leonard "Bones" McCoy in J.J. Abrams upcoming Star Trek prequel movie.

According to AICN sources, Urban as "Bones" is "pretty much a done deal".

The role was played by the late DeForest Kelley in the TOS series and movies.

Star Trek writer Roberto Orci told Trek Movie Report that McCoy has a substantial part in the film. Just about all of the TOS characters are now accounted and cast.

UPDATE : According to StarTrek.com and The Hollywood Reporter Karl Urban has signed a deal to play McCoy.

The original report can be found here and here.

This upcoming season will include some special guest stars, including Brandon Routh of "Superman Returns" who will play CIA agent Daniel Shaw in an episode, and the addition of SUBWAY restaurant as a major advertiser to the show. Chuck averaged a 4.0/6 rating last season, about eight percent better than the recently cancelled "Trauma". Ratings-challenged Heroes moves back an hour when Chuck returns on Monday nights. The Hollywood Stock Exchange has everyone we've heard of so far listed as being cast in the movie, except for Karl Urban (though it'll likely come soon) and (strangely) Zachary Quinto... though Zachary's not even listed in their database yet, which is strange in and of itself, as he's been doing stuff on screen for a while.

I think we'll see an official roll-out on the site and in the trade papers (Variety and Hollywood Reporter) sometime soon. There hasn't been any technically-official confirmation of either: Urban still stands as a rumor, if a well-substantiated one, and Pine would be too if Carnahan hadn't let the cat out of the bag on his blog. (Sour grapes, I suspect - even if he still loves Pine and wants to work with him, he's probably all too happy to sabotage his successful rivals' unveiling of Kirk.)

The official site is not a great source for up to the minute info as information is usually confirmed before it's official. Trek info is not published on the official site until it's official info.
