Retarded? I have a BA from the USC School of Film and Television, if that's your definition of retarded. I've worked in the film industry and I know how difficult it is to even get a production off the ground let alone completed and done well. What's your experience?

As for George Takei, he is currently a regular on the current hit TV show "Heroes." He also had a starring role in "Return to the River Kwai." So what point were you trying to make? I could say that Mark Hammil and Carrie Fisher didn't do squat after Star Wars, so using your analogy does that mean that they suck too?

As it is obvious to me, Mr. Retard, you have never watched a fan-based production. And these "friends" of yours who you ask about their favorite Star Wars and Trek characters (that's not retarded?! LOL!) and they reply 'dork', I can guarantee they've never seen a New Voyages episode and it's obvious neither have you.

I certainly DO care what happens to Star Trek and how good and/or bad it may look. The fan base didn't shrink because of the budgets, it shrank because of poor and inconsistant writing, lack of continuity, and lack of direction i.e., much of "Voyager" and a majority of "Enterprise," both of which I gave chance after chance and eventually stopped watching. So in response to your moronic declaration As long as there is Star Trek on TV you're happy, that's untrue, as I abandoned both of the last two Trek shows as did a growing number of fans.

Great Star Trek can be made on a shoestring. Do you know what the budget was for "Wrath of Khan?" It was just 11 million dollars and made by Paramount's television division. The last New Voyages episode was written by D.C.Fontana, who co-wrote ST:TNG premiere episode "Encounter at Farpoint" as well as a number of the classic Trek shows. But I'm sure you think she sucks too because she wrote a New Voyages episode.

Open your little boy mind and at least watch these episodes. THEN if you think they're so awful, well you are entitled to your opinion. But to make blanket statements about those of us who have been mildly surprised by the high quality of them, well... it seems perhaps you're the type who is destroying Star Trek and it's concept of IDIC. And you still haven't given a single example ofwhy these shows are, as you say, "crap." Oh that's right, you can't because you've never watched one! Silly me!
