Trek Movie Report posted 3 images from the upcoming Star Trek New Voyages fan film episode "World Enough And Time".

The first image shows Captain Hikaru Sulu (George Takei) and Commander Janice Rand (Grace Lee Whitney) on the bridge of the U.S.S. Excelsior, plus images of the starships Enterprise and Excelsior.

The episode has a premiere date: August 23rd. It will be seen in a live streaming event timed to coincide with the gala premiere at a theater in Beverly Hills to be attended by Takei, director Marc Zicree as well as show creator/star James Cawley.

More at the original report, including larger versions of the images can be found here.

My only issue is their over use of the Mirror Universe.

Have I missed something? What takes place in the Mirror Universe? The first episode had an alternate timeline, and the third episode apparently has some "interdimensional" stuff going on.

The second episode, while reasonably well-written, had quite a head-scratching ending.

SPOILERS...

At the end, Chekov dies!? Yet, he's back in the next episode (not to mention six movies!). Otherwise, it would have been a powerful ending (had this been an actual season 4 episode in TOS and if Koenig had left the show at that point). But, the fact that he's back the very next episode undoes that. I wonder if some explanation will be given in episode 3.
