Chuck averaged a 4.0/6 rating last season, about eight percent better than the recently cancelled "Trauma". Ratings-challenged Heroes moves back an hour when Chuck returns on Monday nights. Looking Good So Far | Report this post to moderator

Loved the look of the one completed visual effect shot that they showed. Certainly more in keeping with the B5 universe than what we saw in Legend of the Rangers (sorry to bring up an unhappy memory).

The only thing I'm worrying about is that it's been years now since I've seen any B5. I'm hoping I remember enough to keep up with everything that's happening. From the looks of that one shot, we'll get EarthGov ships taking on the Centauri, so I don't know if this is going to feature the brief war between the I.A. and then Centauri or what.

I'd love to pick up the season box sets, but they're still quite expensive.

How expensive is "expensive"? I got all 5 in the winter of `05 for $45 each at Costco. I thought that was pretty reasonable for a series I really liked. (I still haven't watched Season 5--bad memories of it from its first airing linger)

I passed on Crusade a bezillion times because it was always $60, now I wished I had--I can't find the darned thing anywhere! (I'm too hesitant to buy it online)

I didn't buy Next Gen or DS9 seasons until they were also $45 each--got those all in 2006.

What is "reasonable" for a season of show?

I don't think I have ever seen the B5 box sets for that cheap. I only usually see them for around $80, maybe even at Best Buy. The only other place I see them is at the book stores because most electronic stores won't have them.

As for the TNG and DS9 box sets, I still sometimes see them for over a hundred dollars. Occasionally I'll see them for the lower price, but even then it's on the high end.

I guess I'm just not looking in the right places because I agree that $45 is a pretty decent price.

In the first production diary, Boxleitner appears to be so happy working on a Babylon 5 production again. It will be nice to have another adventure with Sheridan, my favorite Babylon 5 character.

BAB 5 underrated....to a point | Report this post to moderator
By: Glassman Cometh (Odo's file, contact) @ 11:16:51 on May 17, 2007

Yes...I think most people would agree that Babylon 5 was underrated. I won't deny that. I think the first four seasons of that show match up well with anything STAR TREK has done.

But I think most of what came after season four has not been that well done, and does not stand the test of time as the first four seasons do. And the fact that BAB fans debate this all time is proof.

So...yes BAB-5 was a great show, for four season. Since then it has aped that TREK tradition of going to 'to the well' too many times.
