Star Trek star William Shatner revealed more about his recent meeting with Star Trek XI producer J.J. Abrams at a fan convention in Springfield, Massachusetts on Saturday night (Nov. 11). He was talking about the film Generations when he made this comment.

"I had a talk with J.J. Abrams a while ago and they were writing a new script – and we are all hoping it will be wonderful." Shatner told the audience "And he said, they were going to get the Kirk and Spock characters in there. And I said, "How will you do that, I'm dead." (laughter). I said, "That's a problem." So, they are wrestling with that death, OK."

Thanks to 'Ray Kelly' for the submission.

Nov 23Chuck returns to NBC with a special two-hour show on Sunday, Jan 10, 2010, before returning to its regular time slot, Mondays at 8pm on the following night. It's return to prime time television can be attributed to a successful fan renewnal campaign last year. CHUCK is a one-hour, action-comedy series that follows Chuck Bartowski (Zachary Levi, "Less Than Perfect") -- a computer geek who is catapulted into a new career as the government's most vital secret agent. This upcoming season will include some special guest stars, including Brandon Routh of "Superman Returns" who will play CIA agent Daniel Shaw in an episode, and the addition of SUBWAY restaurant as a major advertiser to the show. Chuck averaged a 4.0/6 rating last season, about eight percent better than the recently cancelled "Trauma". Ratings-challenged Heroes moves back an hour when Chuck returns on Monday nights. STAR TREK VOYAGER's Robert Duncan McNeill serves Chuck as a supervising producer and director.0

RE: Save Star Trek: Bring back Shatner and Nimoy one more time | Report this post to moderator

That's painfully over simplified. Not very many people neccessarily like Shatner -- lots love Kirk. It's not Shatner that's going to save the franchise --it's returning to the spirit of the original Star Trek that will save the franchise. And I think it will. People can always look past recasts if the movie is good. All there is to it. Example: Hannibal, recast Starling -- now I may be wrong, but I didn't hear overwhelming complaints after the movie came out and was really good that Julianne Moore didn't depict a satisfactory Starling. The movie was good and we looked past it.
