By GustavoLeao / 10:29, 12 November 2006 / Star Trek: Nemesis

Star Trek star William Shatner revealed more about his recent meeting with Star Trek XI producer J.J. Abrams at a fan convention in Springfield, Massachusetts on Saturday night (Nov. 11). He was talking about the film Generations when he made this comment.

"I had a talk with J.J. Abrams a while ago and they were writing a new script – and we are all hoping it will be wonderful." Shatner told the audience "And he said, they were going to get the Kirk and Spock characters in there. And I said, "How will you do that, I'm dead." (laughter). I said, "That's a problem." So, they are wrestling with that death, OK."

Thanks to 'Ray Kelly' for the submission.

Kirk did NOT have a heroic death. The bad guy was stopped with or without the bridge collapsing.

And had they just popped out of the nexus 15 minutes earlier, they could have just slapped the cuffs on Soran and saved the E-D.

It's a stupid death like a redshirt.

This isn't for just Shatner fans.

Captain Kirk is an American cultural icon. He's about cheating death, not dying.

What's next, killing James Bond?
