Watch Full Trailer for Remastered Star Trek Episodes

By Steve Krutzler / 13:24, 11 September 2006 / General Star Trek

CBS Paramount has released a promotional trailer for the new remastered Star Trek episodes, beginning in weekend syndication September 16th.

Michael Okuda assures fans, "We're going to preserve the original, but bring it a little more into the 21st century."

"Simply want the visual effects to enhance what's already there," adds David Rossi. "We took measurements that were taken off the model from the Smithsonian. We're not adding fins, we're not going to make it do barrel rolls, we're just going to make people's mouth water a little more when they see it. A lot more."

Nov 23Chuck returns to NBC with a special two-hour show on Sunday, Jan 10, 2010, before returning to its regular time slot, Mondays at 8pm on the following night. It's return to prime time television can be attributed to a successful fan renewnal campaign last year. CHUCK is a one-hour, action-comedy series that follows Chuck Bartowski (Zachary Levi, "Less Than Perfect") -- a computer geek who is catapulted into a new career as the government's most vital secret agent. This upcoming season will include some special guest stars, including Brandon Routh of "Superman Returns" who will play CIA agent Daniel Shaw in an episode, and the addition of SUBWAY restaurant as a major advertiser to the show. Chuck averaged a 4.0/6 rating last season, about eight percent better than the recently cancelled "Trauma". Ratings-challenged Heroes moves back an hour when Chuck returns on Monday nights. Quote from G'Kar:
Is there a site somewhere that has more in-depth info/comminication regarding the project? Trekmovie.com is the best source I've found so far...

That site is today posturing as though an unnamed insider was tapped to confirm that Rick Berman isn't associated with J.J. Abrams' movie. Fact is, Paramount posted that information on its website back in April -- along with stating that Abrams' film is a confirmed project, something that has also been affirmed publicly via Leonard Nimoy.

For reading material on the remastered TOS: IESB has a formidable transcript of the conference Q&A with Mike Okuda, Dave Rossi, and John Nogawski.

Ultimately, the most solid source is CBS-Paramount's official site, StarTrek.com, which is where you'll find Okuda's phaser comment in a recent Q&A.
