Actress Crystal Allen played Orion Slave Girl D'nesh in the fourth season Star Trek Enterprise episode "Bound". Now, she talks to TrekWeb about her return to the Star Trek universe in the upcoming fan film Star Trek Of Gods and Men, directed by Tim Russ.

Q : Crystal, what you can reveal about the plot of Star Trek Of Gods and Men ?

Allen : Well let's just say it's much darker and and edgy than any of the Trek series. The characters that fans know from past episodes, now have different personalites in this 3 part series.

Q : Can you describe your character ?

Allen : I play a human! For a change, no green makeup, loved it! I play the navigator who's got a little attitude, in a sexy outfit.

Q : How was working with director Tim Russ and the cast ?

Allen : I just wrapped a lead in a short "Story by Amy Niles" with Tim just before filming this, so I was really looking forward to working with him agian. He's an incredible actor and director and works really efficiently.

Q : Can you compare Of Gods and Men with your Star Trek Enterprise experience ?

Allen : Yes they were both evil women, on the bad side! I enjoy playing roles like that, because there is just so much more depth to the character that you can do anything with her!

Q : You did work on a couple of science-fiction shorts. Tell us about it.

Allen : Speaking of evil roles, yes I played a psychopath in David Livingston's short "Last Laugh". I play a partner in a law firm who will do anything to get to the top. She's a murderer and Bob Picardo plays my victim! What a treat to work with Picardo, he is an intense actor.

The other short "Story by Amy Niles" with Tim I play a complete opposite character, a bookworm who wears glasses and has no life. She gets so wrapped up in this novel she writes, that it becomes her own reality.

Q : After Of Gods and Men, what are your future projects ?

Allen : I've have had a busy summer so far, so I am hoping it will continue. I will probably be signing in this year's Vegas convention. Also for the one in Seattle to launch this 3 part series Sept 8-10.

I am also working on my own show but can't say much about it!

Q: Thank you so much, Crystal !

After that comment and her comment that she's evil.....I'm wondering if it all takes place in the negative evil universe. I'd prefer that Uhura, Tuvok, etc., be their "normal-universe" selves. I hope it's just a bit more edgy, not a total evil universe story. I'd be fine with the bad guy being Evil Universe Kim, who has decided to go back in time to conquer the post ST6 TOS timeframe and is stopped by Uhura, etc, and the Enterprise B crew. Tuvok could be either evil universe or Harriman's crew. (He played a helmsman, but had human ears, which I always thought was odd. I'd like that explained away as him being on an undercover mission that involved removing his ears).
