Nov 17 | Originally hired as co-executive producer to help with the second half of the show's first season, Kevin Murphy has now taken the reins of Caprica, the Battlestar Galactica prequel on Syfy, according to The Hollywood Reporter. He now serves as an executive producer along with Ronald D. Moore, David Eick and Jane Espenson and oversees the day-to-day functions of the show.

Nov 12 | Star Trek star Zachary Quinto is loosely attached to star in the romantic dramedy Whirligig, reports Risky Business.Quinto would play the lead role in the independent Canadian film, which is aiming to shoot early next year. The movie centers on a man who, in a misguided attempt to woo an older woman, befriends the woman's adopted son.Chaz Thorne is directing the pic, based on a screenplay by Michael Amo, creator of the Canadian supernatural series "The Listener."

Nov 11 | The CNS Foundation, is hosting an on-line charity auction at www.charitybuzz.com.   One of the items they are auctioning is a signed movie poster of the new Star Trek movie which has all the cast members and writers.  The president of our organization is Carol Abrams, JJ's mother,  and she arranged for the donation from Bad Robot Production Company.  J.J. Abrams is also a major donor to their organization. The funds raised will go to help find a cure to neurological disorders in children.  The auction link is here.

Nov 10 | Candice Bergen, Charles Lisanby, Don Pardo, Gene Roddenberry, Tom and Dick Smothers and Bob Stewart have been selected as the next inductees into the Television Academy's Hall of Fame. They will be honored at a Jan. 20 ceremony at the Beverly Hills Hotel. "This year's inductees have challenged and shaped popular culture, changed television for the better and entertained us royally while doing so," TV Academy Chairman-CEO John Shaffner said. Patrick Stewart Says STAR TREK XI May Feature Characters from Various TREK Series

STAR TREK THE NEXT GENERATION star Patrick Stewart has just been interviewed on ITV's THIS MORNING show in a prelude to the UK premiere of his new show ELEVENTH HOUR.



He was again questioned about the rumours of a new TNG film. He was tight lipped but did say there was "great interest" in getting the TNG cast together again as well as including characters from the other series.

Stewart reveals, "It has been raised. Apparently there's interest in bringing THE NEXT GENERATION cast together with actors from different STAR TREK series."

Then they asked him if this meant Captain James T. Kirk would return, and he replied that he hoped so because William Shatner was a good friend. "I would love that. I'm very fond of William Shatner." he said.

Stewart also talked about X-MEN 3 and his play A CHRISTMAS CAROL. 'I've just finished a run in the West End of A CHRISTMAS CAROL and I'm now looking forward to a year in Warwickshire, Stratford upon Avon, being a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company for a whole season of plays. I don't see one genre as being more significant than the other, although I'm very excited about Stratford because that was a huge part of my early career, and it meant so much to me. One of the reasons I became an actor was to do that kind of work, I didn't become an actor to work in film or television, I had no ambitions for that, it just kind of happened along the way. I think X-MEN 3 might be the best of the trilogy. It's very emotional and exciting.'

When the last movie flopped he moved away from the franchise so fast you could smell the the burnt rubber from his cheap sneakers. He's not a fan of Star Trek but is a fan of the huge check he gets for making ST films. He'd be happy as a pig in you know what to do another TNG film even if it sinks the Enterprise for good. While I was a big fan of his I now have little faith in him. Pity.

I agree this is great news. I think now that Michael Dorn has also said he thinks there will be a TNG film on the way in the next few years someone who is over seeing Trek has some idea of where the next film is going. So lets see the new movie will take place in the time of the TNG with characters from the other shows somehow mixed in, fine with me. The question of Kirk somehow back in the land of the living can be explained by either it is mirror Kirk or a threat so great and a threat that the real Kirk dealt with the federation had no choice then to get the real Kirk back and bring him into the present. The return of Veger? Or the real kirk vs the mirror Kirk for the fate of the galaxy? Now if they could somehow get MR.Nimoy back that would be a fitting end to this era of Trek. Then I think it will be time to move on to the next generation the next generation after the next generation we all know and love.

I want Kirk back as much as anyone...even if it it mirror Kirk....but.....he'll be pushing 80 when they get around to doing it. How can this work?
