Patrick Stewart on X-MEN 3 Role and Serious Plans for STAR TREK XI

Empire Online caught up with STAR TREK THE NEXT GENERATION star Patrick Stewart who talked a bit about Professor Xavier in upcoming X-MEN 3 movie.

"Well we lost two directors! But everything was fine when I left the set. I've finished my filming now and it's all looking great," he said

About his role in the new sequel, he said, "You'd need about an hour to hear all about it. There are going to be some changes. Professor X is now very, very startling, very surprising. It's all very exciting."

The original report can be found here.

Stewart also told UK's Teletext that plans are afoot to make another TNG feature film for the big screen, as revealed this week by SFX Magazine (story)

Despite plans at Paramount for a TREK prequel movie featuring an all-new cast -- currently titled STAR TREK: THE BEGINNING, Stewart said, "About four months ago at a meeting in Los Angeles the subject was raised quite seriously from a very interesting point of view. I have been saying for four years now that it's over. No fantasies about it coming back, the space suits have been hung up for good."

"But there are weighty people in Hollywood who are very interested in one more run around the holodeck. There are serious plans."

"I was told this may happen two or three years down the road, by which time I'll be able to sit again in the captain's chair, but then again, it's not all that far away and if I'm in good shape I'd love to do it."

Absolutely agree. Data is dead and doesn't come back - now that's a serious thing to have in the next film. Unfortunately, they've already built in their "Remember" moment, so if you don't at least have B-4 mentioned having his mind then people will ask questions, but it also means there's an easy way to bring him back so people will wonder what all the fuss is about.

Probably Nemesis's biggest mistake - Data trying to find ways to kill himself throughout (go on, count how many times Data's prepared to sacrifice himself)
