CBS is expected to announce a time slot change for Brannon Braga's THRESHOLD, the alien invasion drama currently airing Friday nights at 9 o'clock. According to The Futon Critic, THRESHOLD will swap with another of CBS's freshman series, CLOSE TO HOME.

That will put THRESHOLD on Tuesdays at 10pm November 22nd and 29th. No word yet on whether the change will be permanent but the network is hoping to energize both series' soft ratings, according to the report. THRESHOLD has averaged 7.80 million viewers so far and CLOSE TO HOME has averaged 9.93 million. Both series have yet to be picked up for the full 2005/2006 season.

It's return to prime time television can be attributed to a successful fan renewnal campaign last year. CHUCK is a one-hour, action-comedy series that follows Chuck Bartowski (Zachary Levi, "Less Than Perfect") -- a computer geek who is catapulted into a new career as the government's most vital secret agent. This upcoming season will include some special guest stars, including Brandon Routh of "Superman Returns" who will play CIA agent Daniel Shaw in an episode, and the addition of SUBWAY restaurant as a major advertiser to the show. Chuck averaged a 4.0/6 rating last season, about eight percent better than the recently cancelled "Trauma". Ratings-challenged Heroes moves back an hour when Chuck returns on Monday nights. Brannon and Braga are awesome. Anybody who says bad things about him will probably go to hell for eternity. Threshold is the best thing on television. It's too bad he's not working on the next Star Trek movie, but if we keep our fingers crossed, he may grace us with his super Executive Producer powers.

...for me to POOP on!!!

To me, truth is not some vague, foggy notion. Truth is real. And, at the same time, unreal. Fiction and fact and everything in between, plus some things I can't remember, all rolled into one big 'thing.' This is truth, to me.

...however, it just fell flat.

Too bad. Neato concept, but it felt pretty contrived at moments. The only hook for me really was seeing Spiner, but after watching that show...

"Brent who?"

Threshold, created by Braga, is up against Boston Legal. So now the guy that bumped off Shatner's character has to succeed against Shatner's new show. Too weird.

Now, they are moving Threshold to Tuesday night's. at the same time as Boston legal 10:oo pm my time.

i, wonder what show will get the better viewership. Boston Legal or Threshold on that time slot.

well, its only for two week's . and the other show regularly at the Tuesday night time slot at 1o:oopm. mite not be doing very well and is on the verge of being canceled .

Threshold, have a good rating's right now .so let's see how it doe's against Boston Legal for the next two week's.

i, will be watching Boston Legal on tuesday night insted of Threshold (maybe i will tape it) . i have to get my weekly fill of the Chat (Bill Shatner) aka Denny Crane.

I dont like the format, like 4400, that they use for Threshold. Alien of the week for ongoing plot. The show lost me after 3 episodes.
I dont think it will do much better on Tuesdays.

      Vulcan? Dark Logic? HA!!!!!!!!

      More like Human, Schizophrenia!!!!

This is guy's out of his mind- just came from surfing startrek.com and he's claiming the same BS there!

Don't they have a law or rule against spamming?

Besides, I checked out this website www.journeyofussphoenix.com

IF it really were a Paramount production, wouldn't it be on Star Trek.com. This site is purely amateur and very silly!

Threshold can not, in my opinion, stand up against Boston Legal, it would really surprise me if it did.
Boston Legal is one of the few remaining GREAT shows on television, and the character development/relationship between Shatner and Spader is wonderful, very moving at times...both guys are awsome actors.

Not everyone is interested in legal shows, though. Good or bad, Threshold makes a change from all the courtroom and CSI clones out there.

Moving it from Friday night was probably smart since it was in the "death" timeslot. It does show that CBS has some confidence in the show, otherwise they'd just cancel it. Presumably they're hoping it'll build an audience on another night as Lost did or X-Files for that matter (another Friday night refugee IIRC).

The problem is Threshold is following the 24-Lost format of revealing bits and pieces every week like a jigsaw puzzle, which makes it hard to win new viewers if they missed the first episodes. I "get" the show so it has kept my interest (Carla Gugino doesn't hurt either). I certainly find it more entertaining than the other alien show clones.

A measure of how desperate the show (and CBS) are for ratings will be illustrated by whether or not any of the newly ordered scripts include scenes that get Gugino into a bikini or finally have her getting into bed with Cavanaugh. I'm not kidding -- there are many shows Trek included that have pulled the sex card to boost ratings. And given the choice between Bill Shatner and Carla Gugino in a bikini ... ;-)

A woman in a bikini is nothing new.

William Shatner in a bikini, while likely disturbing, is not something you see everyday.

They've already had Shatner & Spader sleep together. Surely, Shatner in a bikini isn't far behind. ;-)
