Speaking this past weekend at a convention in Los Angeles, former STAR TREK writer/producer Ronald D. Moore enthused the crowd with tidbits about the upcoming second season of his BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, slated to premiere on the Sci-Fi Channel in July. According to Sci-Fi Wire, Moore promises no easy resolutions to last season's cliffhanger ending.

"I would say we don't wrap up season one until episode seven," he said. "Adama is not back on his feet any time soon. Commander Tigh is in charge of Galactica. Laura is in jail. There's a meteor crisis that follows the cliffhanger, and Tigh kind of steers them through that crisis successfully. But, you know, Tigh, he's probably the guy you don't want in charge."

Moore promises lots of intrigue, revealing one particular story arc that will play out in the first few episodes.

"Things begin to unravel when [Tigh's] in charge of the fleet. He declares martial law at a certain point. There is an incident where he sends the troops to get supplies, because the ships are withholding supplies from Galactica. He says enough is enough and sends out the troops, and an incident happens, and people get killed. They shoot a bunch of civilians. It's a whole nightmare, and Laura starts an insurrection and the fleet divides. There's a lot of fallout from the events of the last season."

You can read more here. BSG premieres July 15th at 10 PM.

Damn this show is good! This season looks amazing too! Hey Ronnie, would you come back to Trek when B&B are gone? Along with Coto and the Reeves-Stevens?

Anyway, keep the good work on BSG!

the only cliff hanger questions that need answering are:
    1) What's the point of this show?
    2) does slapping the name of an old show on new crap make said new crap legitmate when they should have made an entirely new show out of the new concepts and called it "Slightly annoying show about irritating characters and oversexed robots doing pointless stuff week after week.

I'd also like to point out that, while TNG et al. recycled plots, BSG (2003) has been slowly and surely covering the same ground as the REAl Battlestar Galactica. Watch the repeats bearing that in mind and you'll see. the finale was an amalgum of 'Fire in Space'[Adama injured] and 'Planet of the Gods'[Mysterious artifact points way to earth]

Nah, Ronald - How about you just take over the Star Trek franchise right now and show Paramount that they need to break any contracts they have with B&B?

People may contest the idea, but when you're at rock bottom, anything looks better at this point. Hell, even the fanbase is gaining "official" support from Trek writers and characters, and that's a definite step in the right direction. Perhaps Star Trek will branch out and live and evolve in the fan world for several years before some muckity-muck will decide it's still a "cash cow" and revitalize it for the rest of us.
