Not too thrilled with that "Wildfire" concept...as a regular of the Silver Lake Coffee Company and a resident of Silver Lake-adjacent Atwater Village, I'm not happy about seeing my hood turned into another "O.C."...

This is very good news for ENTERPRISE. With the show going into syndication, this allows the show an extra boost in the possibility in going seven seasons...and having Manny Coto actually knowing what he is doing doesn't hurt either...

I dunno - I think it might be better for people to see the new and improved 4th season right now, instead of the embarrassing 1st season. If new viewers catch 1st season reruns, they might not ever bother to tune in for new eps.

I guess that's probably why practically no one watched it, huh:)? At least it was better than the second season...

I agree, but where do you read that ENT is going into syndication? The article above only says that VOYAGER helped UPN getting off to a strong start...?

It says in the above news item:

"A new ad in Broadcast & Cable boasts that in the two months since announcing ENTERPRISE would enter weekend syndication this fall, Viacom has sold the show to 80% of the country's markets. Markets still up in the air include NY, LA, Chicago. Thanks to 'Cyrus' for the info."

What this means is that ENT will run the early seasons on the weekends, probably one ep either Saturday or Sunday. I know that right before Spike took over DS9, they finally started running DS9 in syndicated rerun in my market, but only over the weekend.

Also I noticed that my local UPN affiliate has setup what it advertised as a "Sci Fi" block of shows for Sunday nights, where they have paired syndicated reruns of X-Files at 9 pm, with current reruns of ENT at 10 pm. Based on that article, I assuming my market bought the ENT syndication package so I'm not sure where they will run it but they might move it to Sundays with the current ENT reruns and X-Files, and perhaps move the other 2 shows (CSI at 8pm and West Wing at 11pm) that bracket the Sci Fi block, to a different day/time, or perhaps back the Sci Fi block back earlier and put the other 2 shows together later in the evening.

          --------

"I think the show talked to people through the characters. They're stories that speak to the heart. They talk about love, they talk about friendship, they talk about loyalty, they talk about patriotism, exploration, curiosity, reaching out... And I think all those things still touch people. Even when you look at a 30-year old show, it still has something to say." - D.C. Fontana, Sci Fi Channel Special Edition TOS 1998
          ----
"If the season finale involves the re-built USS Reliant coming back in time to the 21st Century crewed by Moogie, Dr. Selar, Morn, Transporter Chief Kyle, and the Salt Vampire, then we'll know that Coto has gone too far." - tomba1701

Wont Enterprise be a tough show to watch in syndication? The season 3 arc alone would have people wondering whats going on all the time. That is if they don't run the show in order.

    P.S.

Uhm, excuse me dipshit? One, I'm not a troll. Two, people know that I don't want Shatner to return because it is a crutch for Star Trek. A one shot appearence in either television or movies would do nothing for the industry except bring in fans BRIEFLY. Then once a new show or episode is back on the screen with out Shatner (which can't have a whole goddamn series revolve around Shatner) the series or movie will do only half of what the Shatner movie did.

People want Shatner like a crack addict needs drugs. It's only a quick and temporary fix until you need the next line of drugs.

Kirk's dead. The people who made that trailer are idiots when it comes to writing. So let the dead rest and find someone better to run Trek until they get the formula RIGHT!

            --Uhm, excuse me dipshit?--

            Back that up with actions.

            --One, I'm not a troll.--

You're posting an all-caps sig link with deliberate intent to antagonize. That's being a troller, period. And to a group of people that didn't say or do ANYTHING hateful to you.

You made that sig to be hateful, and now you're acting suprised when you're called out on it. And you don't even have the courage to do it to the people that made the trailer itself, you instead do it in a passive-agressive way by tacking in some cowardly sig line, with nothing to back it up.

Honestly, WHAT are you trying to accomplish by antagonizing people? Do you think it's being cute and "clever" in some way?

--Two, people know that I don't want Shatner to return because it is a crutch for Star Trek. It's only a quick and temporary fix until you need the next line of drugs.----

You can't back that up with ANYTHING. Crossover episodes in the past have RETAINED ratings after the episode itself. Nobody's asking for them to have a Trek series revolve around Shatner. They're saying the episode will bring people in, and it will retain in the following episodes, and if the episodes are GOOD, they'll STAY. Coto and Reeve-Stevens have shown they CAN make good episodes. All they have to do is follow the Shatner episode with strong episodes, and the ratings will retain. But if they don't bring in Shatner, even if the episodes remain good, people aren't going to return to ENT fast enough to keep the show on the air.

And even if what you say WAS true, it has NOTHING to do with that trailer. You don't want him back? Fine. But what does that have to do with people that DO? That's like having a sig line that says "People who like Vlad are idiots!"

--Kirk's dead. The people who made that trailer are idiots when it comes to writing. So let the dead rest and find someone better to run Trek until they get the formula RIGHT!--

Of course, you don't back up the "writing" comments. It's not a movie, it's a TRAILER. The people that made the trailer made it VERY clear that they absolutely did NOT want that storyline to be used for real. They used elements of ALL the Trek shows for the trailer to reach out to ALL Trek fans, including ENT fans. But you TOTALLY miss those points, and try to make it look like they were making a real movie with full-length dialogue, and they somehow want to be "in charge" of Trek and want this to be a "real" storyline.

What do you expect someone to think about you as a person except that you get your jollies antagonizing people?
