    Tell me about it.
Skimming over the topics, I first read it like "William Shatner's new series Star Fleet"... OMG a new Trek show? Wait a sec... oh, the Practise spin-off...

This is a letter to the heads of the networks:
For the love of God stop making spin offs. We are tired of them. This year we have Joey, Star Gate: Atlantis, CSI: New York, Practice: Fleet Street, and Law and Order: Ripped From the Headlines. You people are the Gods of TV is it even possible to create a new premise other then poor knock offs or forgetable reality shows (the later is the worst). You have the ability to create grand wonderful worlds of drama and comedy, but you settle for cheap and quick bucks. Please, please look past the easy money and think about the wonderful art that can be created from from this wonderful medium.

Speak for youself dude. If people were so tired of spin-offs then Law & Order: SVU and CI would not have been on the air this year, and neither would CSI: Miami. We wouldn't have had Frasier last for 10 years, Melrose Place wouldn't have existed, etc...There have been plenty of great shows that came off of others. Mork & Mindy and Laverne & Shirley came from Happy Days. Angel came from Buffy...

(speaking softly with head buried half way down chest) actually it kind of does.

There are just too many recycled shows out there and I for one believe that TV is over due for some truely new and originaly stuff. With in reason of cource ( for example don't have a cop show set in Fargo staring frankenstein's (sp?) monster).

JOKE OF THE CENTURY!!!

When asked how Gene Roddenberry would feel, about Berman's handling of Trek...since his death. Berman responded, "I think he'd be very pleased. I think he'd be proud of what we're doing."

Considering the main show is off the air, and this show is just based on some characters introduced in the final season of the show, it's really a new show.

So far we have seen great stuff from Spader and Shatner. Shatner is getting universal praise for his role. And it has been getting better weekly. I'm looking forward to this show, and hopefully, a guest shot of Shatner finally bringing back Kirk on Enterprise.
