STAR TREK will soon go where no one has gone before: into the world of wireless mobile games.

In an announcement on Wednesday, Jumbuck Entertainment and Viacom Consumer Products announced plans to develop and distribute wireless mobile games based on the original STAR TREK series.

"All of the Jumbuck staff are huge followers of STAR TREK," said Adrian Risch, the chief executive officer of Jumbuck. "Working with Viacom, we will produce a number of action-packed moble games...that will appeal to this market and those that are just looking for a great game to play."

According to Jumbuck's plans, three games will be developed with varying strategies, action and skill levels, utilizing color and graphic effects. The first wireless game, which will feature characters from the original STAR TREK, will be made available to wireless carriers and portals globally in late 2004.

"Viacom Consumer Prodcuts is thrilled to have Jumbuck as our partner for STAR TREK," said Sandi Isaacs, Vice President of Licensing for Viacom Consumer Products. "With their broad carrier reach and reputation for high quality games, we are confident that Jumbuck will deliver exceptional games to the widest possible audience."

It's return to prime time television can be attributed to a successful fan renewnal campaign last year. CHUCK is a one-hour, action-comedy series that follows Chuck Bartowski (Zachary Levi, "Less Than Perfect") -- a computer geek who is catapulted into a new career as the government's most vital secret agent. This upcoming season will include some special guest stars, including Brandon Routh of "Superman Returns" who will play CIA agent Daniel Shaw in an episode, and the addition of SUBWAY restaurant as a major advertiser to the show. Chuck averaged a 4.0/6 rating last season, about eight percent better than the recently cancelled "Trauma". Ratings-challenged Heroes moves back an hour when Chuck returns on Monday nights.
