VOYAGER actor-turned-director Robert Duncan McNeill spoke with the UK's STAR TREK Monthly recently about his latest STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE directorial outing, "Twilight." The interview was conducted while the episode, which will air November 11th, was in pre-production.

"'Holy crap how are we going to do that?'" McNeill recalls saying when he first read the script in exerpts available at TrekToday. "[It] looks to be a really challenging show to do...right now it reads as if Enterprise is [going to be] destroyed."

McNeill says that the script called for the roof to be blown off the bridge and crewmen to fly into space, scenes that may be difficult to pull off.

"Things change dramatically once you actually get into prepping a show. You realise you can't afford things or you realise something is just impossible to shoot," he told the mag.

The director revealed that "Twilight" will also feature 'Silik' and tie into the Temporal Cold War: "This is jumping into the future with Archer and seeing something that he does that affects the timeline, as well as affecting the past and affecting all sorts of other things, in terms of big issues with hunanity and civilization ans also interpersonal relationships."

Finally--back to the "original" storyline | Report this post to moderator

Don't get me wrong, I am enjoying the Xindi storyline a lot more than the previous two seasons, but I thought the "dumping" of the "Future Guy" storyline--it just seemed so much cooler to me. I would love to see this Xindi-plotline lead into Romulan Wars, but that shouldn't happen for a couple more seasons on ENT. I'd just like to get some hints of upcoming storylines or seasons, ala BAB5.

It would be neat to see that something Archer does changes things to look more TOS. It would be funny, although in my fanboy heart I would enjoy it, if Archer does something minor (like stepping on a butterfly in the Bradbury short story) comes back to the "current" timeline and everyone is wearing Classic Kirk and Spock style uniforms! Just for 20 seconds, and then he goes back, fixes it, and everyone is back in the basic blues. Goofy, to be sure, but dammit the press and fans would be all over that one to check it out!

sure, seen it before, but we've only seen somebody getting sucked out into space once in NEMESIS and that was one of the best shots of the film -- I wanna see Hosih get sucked out into space, dammit.

Could somebody please explain to me the origin of the Vulcan/Romulan haircut. It would be great if Enterprise could just make one mention of it.

Here is my beef it goes back to TOS, in the episode were Spock gets the mating fever, the Enterprise goes to Vulcan and we see Spocks intented wife. If you recall her hair is done up in a 60's buffant. Or the other TOS episode "The Enterprise Incident", were we have a female Romulan commander who wears her hair shoulder length. Finally two Trek Movies namely "The Wrath of Khan and "The Undiscovered Country", we have two female Vulcan's who wear their hair in differing styles. As I recall in the "Wrath of Khan", McKoy or Kirk even comments of Christy Ally's hairstyle.

So what gives, with T'Pols boy haircut and every Vulcan and Romulan having the same combed forward haircut.

If they could just explain the Vulcan haircut in Enterprise or change T'Pols hair for one episode I think it would be be must helpful for clearing up some unexplained questions.

It has nothing to do with "All Good Things", I was just venting my fustration with every episode of Enterprise twisting the Trek continunity to it's own ends. The series original aim to was clairfy and explain the origins of the Trek Universe. So far it has only convoluted it.

Every time I read a spolier or a preview of an upcoming episode the series gets further and further away from Trek. Question why no mention to the "Romulan War" mentioned in TOS that happened in Archer's time period? I think that would be far more interesting that this Xindi thing.

Are you stupid? Number 1, that war isn't scheduled until around Season 5 and with tonight's "there are at least 50 spheres" comment and T'Pol's comment of "why would somebody build a region of space with anolomys". It's obvious that it's built to keep somebody from getting to the other side. The other side could very well be where the Romulus itself is at this point in time.

So rather than bitching and whining about the Romulan Wars, which did not take place until around 2 years from now, just sit back and enjoy some good Trek.

People always find shit to bitch about, when infact, Season 3 has been better than I'd have to say the rest of ENT in the past and all of VOY, hell, even some episodes of DS9 and TNG pale in comparison to Analomy and Exile.
