Impulse was a rehash... (spoilers) | Report this post to moderator

There's something I can say about this episode. Minus all the fancy camera work, stunts, special effects, and music... and you have a mediocre to bad episode. To me the episode was pretty much a complete stand-alone episode that never really contributed to the entire Xindi arc at all. True, it was entertaining at first, but there was a lot of action, but no mystery built-up. Well, I know I might get some grief for this, but I thought the directing needed to be toned down a bit. All the strobes, and fast camera movements made me sick. It almost looked like I had the episode on fast-forward at some parts. Also, did anybody notice that when the camera moved really fast, it was choppy? I noticed this in all the episodes, and it was a nice touch. However, this effect was overdone in Impulse.

This entire episode was also vaguely familiar, especially when T’Pol pulled out the phase pistol. I seem to remember another episode almost exactly 2 years ago, where chemicals made everybody go mad, including T’Pol. I must say, I was VERY disappointed when I found out the mystery was due to toxins. Why not an alien presence? Why not a biogenic weapon? Overall, I think I even enjoyed “Strange New World” better…

That’s just what I think.
