T'Pol must die! | Report this post to moderator

This is a play on the title of an old Star Trek novel called 'SPOCK MUST DIE!', however... I do feel that the character of T'Pol is one of the things about ENTERPRISE that is causing problems with the show.

T'Pol's character doesn't belong on the show at all. Vulcans didn't serve in Starfleet until around the time that Spock joined. T'Pol is referred to as the science officer... intentional bad continuity -4 pts.

T'Pol says stupid things like "Space is very big", and once when asked if she had ever been camping, she replied that she hadn't. But there was that episode back at the beginning of the series where they had been camping. She's an idiot. A Vulcan with alzheimer's disease. She's unworthy of being a science officer if she can't remember a recent experience or can't describe space in Vulcan terms. I know humans here and now that make her look like Lloyd Christmas, she has the right haircut to be a female Lloyd Christmas (Dumb and Dumber, Dumb and Dumberer) -5pts.

She's a slutty Vulcan, even a slutty Vulcan would be a little more Vulcan and not so willing to throw themself into a situation that she may not be able to handle. There's a very good reason why Vulcans learned to repress their emotions, they can't handle it. They do far better with reason and logic, better than humans do. Given that, I don't see how she realistically deduce that exploring her emotions would be such a good idea, especially without heavy consideration as to the consequences. I suppose the effects of the Delphic Expanse are supposed to give her license to let loose, it's still a bad idea. Spock was more believeable in regards to exploring emotions as he was only half Vulcan. -7 pts.

T'Pol doesn't have Vulcan eyebrows. -10pts.

The character of T'Pol is all about "sexing up the show", something that really doesn't need to happen, at least not in the style that they're trying pull on ENT. Subtlety is so much more powerful than blatant sex. Rick Berman and Brannon Braga are trying to appeal to the baser instincts of the viewership, but the viewership isn't likely to respond very positively to this rendition of a Vulcan female.

T'Pol's character should be killed off. If they want to have a sexy woman on the show, they need to find a better way to pull it off. Just when I thought the could pull itself out of the quagmire of stupidity that has plagued it, this happens. Perhaps ENTERPRISE could actually do better if they could concentrate on writing STAR TREK instead of scraping the bottom of the television tricks barrel in a desperate effort to boost ratings.

My optimism has dried up. If they really plan on sexing T'Pol up, I really do hope that the show gets cancelled next season, it's not worthy of bearing any association with STAR TREK. Ironically, they're re-attaching the name STAR TREK to the title this year from what I've read. They've managed to turn this whole concept into a juvenile joke.
