FAQ on Abrams-Trek reset movie:

*Q: Don't you have to see the movie before judging it?!

A: NO. Not if I dislike the movie for being a reset of the original Star Trek verse. This is an established fact now based on spoilers and statements from producers. Watching the movie will not alter it being a reset.

Q: Why are you bashing the alternate timeline? Your DVDs and novels of the original timeline Star Trek will still exist.

A: The DVDs and novels will exist, but this alternate timeline now takes over all new Star Trek. Thus the ORIGINAL Star Trek is now DEAD on the big and small screen. I will not accept alternate timelines if it means I have to miss the original Star Trek.

Q: Why are you panicking? It is likely that in the future Star Trek will go back to the original timeline, possibly in a tv show or series.

A: TPTB reset Star Trek to establish a new franchise and strengthen their control of it. The chances of new TV or movies in the original timeline are ZERO if the movie succeeds.

Q: Why are you bashing the new movie when a reset is necessary for Star Trek to reach new larger audiences and survive into the future? Without this movie succeeding the Star Trek franchise will die.

A: A reset is not necessary for the movie. The same story would have worked well in the original timeline. I still have not worked out or been told why the reset was necessary. On this I strictly follow the Klingon Way: "die with honour". If Star Trek can not survive while retaining its core identity, or producers are unable to make a successful movie, or the current society is not accepting of classic Trek, etc, it's better to pull the plug and let Star Trek die than let it survive but lose what defines it.

Q: Are you some kind of a troll that leaves in their mother's basment and can not understand just how great this new movie is?

A: No. I live on the side of a mountain overlooking a harbour. I have very nice mountain and water views.
