Best Star Trek Episodes as Movies | Report this post to moderator

I was just wondering . . . what Star Trek teleplays could have been remade into screenplays and would turn out to be great movies. Think about it. A Star Trek episode turned into a movie. What would be the best ones???

TOS:
"The City on the Edge of Forever" definitely. Maybe "Mirror, Mirror". Definitely NOT "The Trouble with Tribbles".

TNG:
"Chain of Command," both parts. That would have been amazing. Especially if it were R-rated and we had seen Stewart completely nude, Riker and Jellico cursing at each other. Incredible.
"Tin Man" would also have been great. Have the Enterprise and the Romulan vessel cripple each other instead, with a race to Gomtuu.
NOT "The Best of Both Worlds". The two-parter is perfect television, but poor cinema. There would have been no cliffhanger.
NOT "The Inner Light". Too character driven and esoteric for the theater. But Stewart may have gotten in a sex scene or too. He would have had fun . . .

DS9:
"Duet", obviously. Great, great episode. Have Maritza's throat slit instead of being impaled in the back.
"Improbable Cause" and "The Die is Cast". Great eps, more development on the Obsidian Order and this is gold.
"In the Pale Moonlight". Oh baby. Show Garak innocently inspecting the Romulan craft, planting the bomb. Ohhhhhh yeah . . . great movie.
NOT "Trials and Tribble-ations". FUCK THE TRIBBLES.
NOT "The Visitor". Great ep, but I can't see it in theaters.

VOY:
This was hard . . .
"Tuvix". Yes, Tuvix was probably the best character ever on Voyager.
"The Omega Directive" Get rid of Seven's ATROCIOUS religion thread and FOCUS ON THE CONTROVERSY. This could have been a CLASSIC.
NOT every other episode. :-)
