Future Star Trek Films | Report this post to moderator

Here's my idea so far as how to save and refresh Star Trek. I figured a number of private investors get together with Paramount executives and have Berman and Braga terminated. Then bring back in Ira Stephen Behr and his DS9 pals to write an epic TNG/DS9/part Voyager trilogy in 3, 3 hour epics. Each film would be released 6 months apart. The series of films would be entitled Star Trek: War. And it would basically bring the entire Trek universe to its darkest hour and greatest threat and challenge. The Borg would be the villans but in the most hideous and coldest way imagineable that has never been explored before. Numerous Borg fleets (over 10,000 ships) would attack and destroy the worlds of the quadrants top empires and they would also hit the Dominion hard as well. Q would be involved at guiding Picard while Sisko would return with guidance from the Prophets. Janeway would return to captain Voyager with her knowledge of the Borg and use her Delta Quadrant experience to gain a step on the Borg. Unfortunatley something so devastating would have to occur...The destruction of Earth in a jaw dropping battle scene (at least 35 minutes with 1,000 Borg ships vs 5,000 Federation/Dominion alliance ships) with moments such as the space dock falling into Earth's atmosphere while breaking apart and impacting on the planet. Also in Part 2, a secret would be revealed that links the Borg to the Dysons Sphere and V-Ger to which the Enterprise would gain a tactical advantage to finally attack and destroy the Borg forever. The trilogy, while dark would also be directed by Michael Mann or James Cameron to bring in the very best cinematography in movie history.

Special effects would be totally mind blowing compared to all other Trek/SciFi movies before. No more of that garbage like in Nemesis where the camera just watches ships fly even in battles without being daring. Such moments that would be short of brilliant in the battles would be a 1-2 minute continous non-stop outer-shot of the Enterprise and Defiant attacking invading Borg vessels with no let up to show the rocking inside the ships from weapons firing which has been done to boredom in all other Trek films. Also showing upclose weapons impacts onto the hulls of ships with debris and people flying out would be great too.

This film in order to pull in audiences by the bucketloads would have to incorporate the best visual and special effects in movie history that would set a new standard for ALL films to come. Also great use of lighting and music would factor in as well. And plot-wise the films would be written greatly where they would just flow without a snag like so many films before it, thats the reason for a good high quality director. Other things that would be a great benefit to show: Other cities on Earth besides Paris and dang San Fran. Show the L.A. coral reef since its supposed to be destoyed according to that Voyager episode. Also, a nice LONG beauty shot of the Enterprise and Defiant would really make the magic touch for die-hard trekkies.

As for the cast...well, I think it would be top rate:
