These are mainly the older patrons as I had backed these up last year. Just thought some of you would get a smile out of these and seeing when you first showed up.
The Lensman (Second post, Oct 5th)
(After a hard day's work, The Lensman returns to the underside of Trekweb, ready to relax. He put's on a Cranberries album, gets a beer, lights a cigar and sits down. Kicking his feet up, he closes his eyes and leans back puffing his cigar.) So, who's ready to drink with me, eh? A good old "bar" thread is what this board needs, it certainly isn't getting much fan fiction and the game bbs is just as empty. (The Lensman pours his beer into a glass and raises the glass) Here's to you guys who keep showing up and trying. Perhaps I'll read your stuff, but first, join me in a drink. (The Lensman tips back his glass and knocks back a quarter of it) Aaahhh.....Good. Cheers all!

I guess the problem is that although we have posted a little here, we don't actually do what was intended here - we don't talk about any fan fiction. So, has anybody read any good fan fiction lately? I know only of the fan fiction at lcarscom. What other good links are there out there? Oh, and did anybody read my story? (This last question TM by 'Ulterior Motives R Us') ;)

(After receiving his drink, Cujo addresses the bartender) Word on the street is that someone is looking for a Webmaster of sorts. (The bartender nods over to the table by the jukebox. Cujo then downs his shot and approaches the table) Good evening Gentlemen, I hear your looking for webspace to post some fan art or literature? I may be able to help you out. I have a website that I am currently working on. Although a change in design and strategy has forced a delay in its completion. I am willing, however, to post a small quantity of stuff about once a week in a dedicated corner of my webspace for the bar's collection of fan art/literature. What do you think?

The rules for the Bar.
1. Keep it civil. No fighting in the Bar. If you have to fight, take it outside (Central Board).
2. Please post any violatile topics on the Central Board. That way the Bar remains a quiet sanctuary for those wanting to get away from that sort of thing.
3. Enjoy yourself, that's what you're here for. Respect others and be respected.
4. New patrons get a cool "welcome celebration" when showing up for the first time.
5. The stool at the end of the bar is The Lensman's stool. Find another place to sit. (The Lensman shows everyone the place on the underside of the stool where his name is.)
6. The first round is always on The Lensman. So it was in the begining, so shall it always be.
Still appropriate even today. Except the last one...and stay off my stool!

If we're going to name our bar, I think we should call it the "Space Bar" :D Sorry, bad joke, but it is sort of appropriate as it's related to trek but not directly (just as we don't really discuss trek here) and we do use that key and awful lot when frequenting the bar :) Hmmmm, that reminds me... I haven't used the jukebox yet... Thinking of Lensman's lack of sleep, I think I'll choose and old classic and play Metallica's "Enter Sandman" ;)

Heh! Space Bar would be cool. I like it for the reasons you stated, plus I like it because it's simple. Others would be Astro Bar, Starlight Lounge, Cosmic Bar and Grill. Hmm......a future topic in the making! ;)

Here's an idea, how about a website dedicated to showcasing the stuff of people here in the bar? Writing, art, whatever. I have a tripod site (haven't been there in forever) and the only thing I never figured out was how to make thumbnails that could be clicked on to view a larger image. I do some computer art in addition to traditional stuff, and it's easier to put it on websites's 'cause I don't have to scan it or anything. Thoughts? Volunteers?

So, having dismissed Siroth's suggestion of 'SpaceBar', iamspen's 'StarPort' and StarChild's 'ThirdStar' too hastily, a revote is in order. I'll throw one of my suggestions in too! However, THIS IS IT. The end all and be all of the bar's name. Its time for the bar name deathmatch!!! Here are the rules...
