Interesting. Is the guy you chose for Spock the same guy that played Angel? Not bad but he looks more like Sarek than Spock,to me.Kirk is pretty good.He at least exudes somewhat of a Kirkish aura and Gary Senise(if I spelled that right) is perfect as McCoy.
The uniforms are an interesting blend of TOS, the movies, Next Gen and even Enterprise. Hard to believe you could accomplish that and still have them look good. Needs Scotty to get the red version in the picture.

They sure as heck look a lot better than the "pajamas" worn in ST:TMP!
I TAKE NO CREDIT FOR THE UNIFORMS THAT IS DOWN TO CYMRO THE MAGNIFICENT BUT I DID EVERYTHING ELSE
Don't want to claim any kudos for the uniforms credit where credit's due there.

There seems to be some confusion here on my part. Correct me if I'm wrong (and this is by no means a dig at Ro and Cymro or anyone else who has contributed creatively to this idea) but why the emphasis (if this is a reboot, a restart etc) to make the characters resemble the actors who played them originally? This only happens in biopics. Kirk doesnt need to be played by Flannery, he could be played by a range of different actors same as for any of these characters. BSG's 'reimagining' or 'reboot' or whatever you wish to call it started from scratch, in came a female Starbuck and Boomer, a white Col Tigh and a young British Baltar...you know the rest I wont bore you. If a Trek reboot happened (which personally I don't believe it will, it is fun to speculate of course) don't you think TPTB are more likely to take the RDM approach? But as someone mentioned before, there's 40 years of history and continuity that would go out of the window, this may bring in a new audience but would no doubt alienate a lot of the old and totally divide the fanbase. After all it's only a tv show but one that is now part of our culture. What I would personally love to see is all the creative people here at Trekweb create something new and non Trek related but obviously Trek inspired. There are so many talented writers, artists and fans with great ideas, why not channel them into something original rather than standing on the shoulders of Trek?

I'm sorry. I know you put a lot of work into this, and it took skill.
But I have to say one glance at this convinces me that I'm right in WANTING Star Trek to stay in th egrave a while longer.
The day I see noted actors playing dress-up in costumes that are trying to un-dorkify themselves from an original dorky concept... all the while pretedning that this is somehow a bold new take on an important concept... is the day I sign off Star Trek forever.
NO ONE off of this board will shell out $9 to see someone else play Captain Kirk in a movie.
Still fewer are going to tune in every week for a dose of Nutra-Trek.
Anyone actually wanting to see Star Trek either owns the original, or catches it every day in reruns.
This doesn't need to happen, and I hope it doesn't.

Bucky, you need to read over Ro and Cymro's previous posts regarding their plan for a Trek re-boot. This poster is not perfect, but the whole project here is inspiring so much interest and the ideas on casting, costumes, music and plot are really worth checking out. Do so before you shoot it down so quickly.

I love your respect for Star Trek, it's so evident in what you write.
is that boreanaz or marsters as spock. It looks like Boreanaz but the other Reboot thread from before had Marsters as spock.

Although I might have worded my reaction a little differently than Bucky did, the fact remains this is exactly the type of response that should be expected in the event Trek does a reboot in real life (as opposed to the fun brainstorming happening here). People will not accept (and I'm willing to use a generalization here because I'm dead certain this will be the case) anyone else playing Kirk, Spock and McCoy. The characters are simply too iconic. (Remember Timothy Dalton as Rhett Butler? Fairuza Balk as Dorothy Gale? Didn't think so). The uniforms can be the most fantastic creations in the world and it means nothing. A reboot needs to either use completely different characters -- let someone create a set of new icons -- or do what BSG did and render them so unrecognizable from their original versions that they become new characters.

That's Boreanaz.

I'm sorry, dude, but I dont think Boreanaz is right for Spock at all. He's too big (broad-shouldered and such), and does not project intellectualism. He's much more suited to 'leading-man' parts; I'd never classify him as a 'character-actor'.
Marsters would be so much better in the role; he exudes intelligence and he's got the slender build, the striking bone-structure, the deep voice and the sex-appeal. Plus he's a more versatile performer (which any actor playing Spock would have to be).

But, this is all neither here nor there. I'm much more interested in the writing (act two of 'In the Harsh Light of Fate' will be up tomorrow).
PS--Boreanez might be good for Mitchell.
