The solution to everyone's complaints
By Gul Telly

My friends and I have discussed this since "Insurrection" was rumored to be the last TNG film and that the crew of either DS9 or VOY would be taking the helm...

Why can't they do a multi-series film? Cull the best from all three series and use it in a new feature. It would breathe fresh life into it and allow actors who don't feel like donning their space suits any more a chance to pass without having to go through awkward "write-outs" or off-screen deaths.

Upon seeing "Nemesis", we said the next film should be Capt. Riker and the crew of the Titan. Dorn's still game? Great. Captain Wil Riker, first officer Cmdr. Worf (yes, another cinematic promotion, but without the dopey "at sea" ceremony... maybe one geared to Worf's Klingon sensibilities with Martok present?), navigator Tom Paris (his was one of Voyager's finest characters -- cause he was actually flawed!!!), Counselor Troi (maybe give her a new bridge position???), Chief O'Brien in Engineering (Colm Meaney deserves to be on the big screen) and introduce a new doctor. Hell, bring B'Elanna on as the new tactical officer (she was a guerilla fighter... why make her an engineer???).

Plotwise, what worked best for Trek? What was its strongest opponent? It was the Borg till "Voyager" dumbed them down. The Romulans just aren't cinematic enough. The Klingons have been done to death in the TOS movies and in the season-long war on DS9. Bring back the Dominion!!! The Enterprise could be lured into a trap and her crew taken prisoner and Riker must save his old captain... but when they arrive to rescue them, they seem perfectly fine... are they changelings in disguise or not? A great suspense film plays out with plenty of opportunity for action, intrigue, and cameos (Lwaxana representing Betazed? Grand Nagus Rom? First Minister Shakaar? Hell, Seven could even show up as Admiral Janeway's attache).

The producers need to stop making Trek pictures for everyone to see. They're not fooling anyone. If it says Star Trek in the title and someone's not interested in Star Trek, they still won't see it even if they see big 'splosions in the teaser. Make these pictures for Trekkies so they'll stand up to scrutiny and get asses in the seats!
