Don't worry about these descriptions, the author doesn't know Trek wel
By Jim M

The author of this report doesn't know a lot about Star Trek, so I think it's important to keep this in mind and not get too concerned with continuity issues, particularly as it relates to Scotty inventing transporter technology. I think the author may be misunderstanding and misinterpreting some of the scenes, especially since has not seen the entire movie. His repeated use of the term "Trans Warp" is a big red flag to me that he may not have understood exactly what was taking place in the scenes.

The movie may, in fact, contradict established continuity, but until we know more or see it ourselves, there's no point in getting "upset" about it.

Obviously, the movie needs to be understood by fans and non-fans alike, but I think it's just an issue of him not communicating the descriptions properly. Besides, even if there are continuity violations, that doesn't mean it can't turn out to be a great film.
